Farmacology is Paul Carnazzo's new creation (shortly to be released) and I was privileged to see an early copy. In keeping with many of Paul's other releases it is ideal for the close up mentalist.
The routine involves several spectators each having a card containing several words. Each spectator freely thinks of one of the words and with no pumping or fishing you are able to divine the words. There is also opportunity for the spectators to guess each other's words as in a guessing game, so providing good spectator input and an added bit of fun. The principle and routine is capable of much variation and rather than involving several spectators you could just perform it for one. You can also alter the words on the cards so as to fit a particular theme. One of the cards Paul includes gives the name of farm animals, hence the name of the effect. To perform though, you and the spectators really need to be seated at a table. As with Paul's previous release, Hip-know-therapy, you will need to print out the cards and Paul has given very clear instructions on this. Also the design of the cards is absolutely superb. If you perform close up mentalism then Farmacology is well worth consideration. Also if wanting to perform something to show family and friends at the Christmas table, again Farmacology could give all a good deal of fun with each guessing the words being thought of and with you of course being right every time. The instructions to the effect are clearly described, the cards brilliantly formatted and the routine very strong. There is a some memory work involved and ideally, you need to be seated although, with a bit of thought, it may be possible to get round this. Overall this effect has the potential for giving a lot of fun and with Christmas coming along and chance to present effects while sitting down, this could be quite a festive hit. |

Neil has said it all and as always his reviews are spot on.
Farmacology is indeed a great new effect from someone who has become a leading creator in the field. I love all Paul's work and have had some great times entertaining with any of his cards right out of my wallet. What I also liked about this one however, are the clever principles involved, which could be adapted to other performance styles. The creativity of this art is what keeps me hooked and I look forward to many more exciting creations for 2012 from Mr.Carnazzo. Congrats Paul on yet again coming up with some very clever commercial thinking. Gerry

Good afternoon to everyone!
This is Athens calling at 1:45 a.m (Greek Time)!!! Dear Sirs, do not let the ...one digit number of my posts fool you, since I'm fooling (pun intended) around with magic and in particular mentalism for quite a few years, despite the fact that performing mentalism is my part time occupation and not the main one. I'd much appreciate if Paul or anyone else could tell me if there are any language restrictions on performing "Farmacology". That's the only thing I want to know, since I've most of Paul's brilliant creations, including all of his wallet cards and his also latest downloadable wallet card "Hip-Know-Therapy". Simply put, it's a matter of blind (or should I say "blindfolded"?) trust whenever Mr. Carnazzo decides to let a new idea "pop out" of his ingenious and very creative mind. But there's always an exception and IMHO this was his "Unfolding". Maybe I'm wrong, since I suppose that there are quite a few fellows mentalists who liked it. For some unknown reason even to me, I didn't like it maybe because it simply doesn't fit my style or my persona, though I have to admit that the included artwork (pictures)in his pdf e-book was very nice. But I will definitely order Farmacology if there are no language restrictions. Stay all well and healthy, Andrew J.K.

Thanks for clarifiying things for me, Paul.
I'm pretty sure that "Farmacology" will be an other winner in your wallet card series! Stay always well and healthy, Andrew

Review : Paul Carnazzo´s Farmacology from http://www.amirasideas.com
Paul gives us again another piece of Card Mentalism, his second offering in his "Arts and Crafts" series called "Farmacology". A VERY intelligent concept behind this triple mindreading piece. Price and Description: $10 at http://www.mentalvoyage.com/index_files/Farmacology.htm My opinion: A 18 pages eBook , simple layout, with Cover, brief content but really good ideas. If you read the effect, immediately you will think in David Hoy, but the interesting thing is that Paul gives us more than a 3 phase mindreading piece, a system to know information at distance with just a card. You can use it 1-on-1 or the way that Paul gives you. If you think a little bit you can even predict the chosen word by the participant. Rate: 8,5/10 If you want to learn a new piece for your wallet for casual performances or other similar setting, this could work without a problem. Maybe some crediting is necessary ,but overall a great bargain. Recommended.

I am not sure what is meant by printing out the cards, given that they are wallet size. Do we literally print onto scard stock from the design given in the pdf? Can we print the words in pen onto the back of our own business cards? I would like some more info on the actual process of making the cards, if not posted here, then by pm. Anyone?

And can they be printed on index cards, or even larger?
