Dynamike,
I mixed them together a little bit. Maybe you worry too much about the question which one is the best. Maybe trust you feelings and use the text you like the most. ;-) Daniel |

All of them are way to wordy!
sorry but you only have 7-13 seconds to get their attention. your home page should be a blitz of eye candy. fun pics maybe a short quote or two (make sure they are really great quotes) then when they click to enter your site you can have some info but divide it up in to different pages don't have a one page sell everything! separate it to what they are looking for and then feed them the info they need. just my thoughts feel free to check my site out http://www.samsandler.com as for what you are writing do you really want to be the jack of all trades master of none-- HEY not saying your not good at what you do however the perception to the people reading it is that - why do I want a kid entertainer for my wifes 40th birthday. just think about how you sell yourself to others. being a specicalist gets you more money most of the time. not saying you can not list the events you perform at but would it not be better to do this "Dynamike you made our summer camp this year the best year ever, thanks" amy smith summer wonder camp we wanted to thank you for entertaining everyone at joeys 6th birthday party. the parents loved the show just as much (maybe more) then the kids. thanks agian I would be happy to recommend you to others." joyce myers you see the difference - now your not listing all the things you do but your still telling them that you have shows for multiple events my website right now is going to be changed right after the new year if not before. I am removing the private party page and putting in different page that will convey the message I want yet still have me shown as a specialist. any way just my thoughts keep up the good work and hope we magicians can help you!\sam

Dynamike,
I agree with Sam. Way too wordy. I would have left your web page after reading just the first two sentences. They sound just like every other web page out there. They aren't unique. There's nothing exciting. There's nothing that makes me want to book you. It's almost as if you're more concerned about saturating your page with SEO terms than you are providing a show that will please your clients. Try targeting more. Don't have one page for everything. Is this birthday page, a library page, or a mentalism page? You need to have unique, relevant text on each of those pages that uses the jargon and language of that industry/market, in a way that captures their attention! Just my thoughts! Kevin |

Just a thought on this: I kind of don't care for advertising that starts out with a question. Maybe you should start with the assumption that they came to your website looking for a magician. I think the best advertising has a headline that solves a problem for a person. Re-frame your approach to look at it from the clients point of view. I feel like you're selling the steak and not the sizzle.

I have received some adults shows too out of it. But if I will not get a lot of adult shows from it, who cares?, at least I will receive a lot of kid shows. I want to keep the adult content just as a back up. I might get an extra 5 adult shows a year from the adult content. Without the adult content I might get no adult shows a year. If I wanted a lot of adult shows a year, I will need a website geared for adults only. Quote:
"Dynamike you made our summer camp this year the best year ever, thanks" Good idea. I am surprised I never thought of that. At least I am going to have a page of reference letters on my website when done: http://www.waynecountymagician.com Thanks everyone. |

You use the location-as-keyword at least two, and up to four, times in your copy. Is the location really that big of a keyword for you? How many times do you need it to get the "hit"?
If they're using location as a keyword in the search, and the search results will show the search term and surrounding words, how many times do you want them to see that one term? Ed |

Ed, do you understand content is king with SEO? I was explained about that from certain members a few years ago. I see they are right. It put my website on the front page.
If the website on the front page of Google, it will be useless no matter how good it sounds. When my website appears on the first page at the top, I might decrease some of the content. It will also help connect with the PR. |

Honestly, Dynamike, I do not understand a lot about web pages and SEO and such - you only have to read some of my posts here and look at my web site to know that!
But I am a writer - have been for about 40 years. It's a bit rusty, because I'm confined on my job to stodgy technical stuff. But as an editor, I have to read other's writings every day and rewrite to put the information in a readable and understandable format. I can still recognize a paragraph that could be better, though it might take me a bit more work to come up with my best for standard prose. I do get that "content is king" with SEO. But I'm throwing two qestions at that: (1) How often do your keywords need to be mentioned in the content for them to register high on SEO? (2) How does that read to your client and how concerned are you about that? It's unfortunate that they can't create a keyword search and response algorithm that reads a paragraph like a human does. (Or maybe that's too scary to imagine!) So we have all seen web pages that were obviously written just to give an excuse to stuff another keyword in there to score points with the sesarch engine. As "SEO ninjas" ourselves (koff!! koff!!), we can recognize what's going on. But the client simply sees stilted wordings that read a bit strange and don't quite flow even if they don't know why. It's not a matter of taking out keywords, but putting them where they make sense. For instance: -- you are the most amazing magician and funniest clown in XXX. -- Follow this with a testimonial, and you give the XXX for that person, which is different than the one you just used -- This gives you the motivation to then say "(Yes, Dynamike entertains at this, that, and the other events all over XXX County!)" It also has the added benefit of having other people tell your clients how good you are, what shows you perform, and where you perform them, rather than just reading a list of event types, locations, and descriptive phrases. Maybe something like this? ************ Hi, I’m Dynamike, the funniest clown and Number One magician in MyCity! And I’m ready to make your event absolutely magical! (Testiphony goes here) Birthday Mom in HerCity Yes, Dynamike will amaze everyone in your group with his magical talents and unique sense of humor at all kinds of events (birthday and holiday parties, graduations, communion parties, family gatherings, summer camps, and anything else you can think of) all over MyCounty! (Another testiphony) Mrs. Someone Dircetor, ThisDaycare, ThatCity Dynamike also provides “Adult-Only” stand-up magic and interactive illusions that are guaranteed to make your next event a complete success! From a business meeting to a grand opening, from a home birthday party to a whole-school performance, every show is customized to suit your exact needs and guaranteed to entertain your guests or get all your money back!! Want to hear more about Dynamike and what he can do for you? Check out these links: (lists of hyperlinks to testimonies with text and alt tags like:) Bobby’s birthday in This City Big Company meeting in YYY City Julie’s party in ThatCity Little Company event in ZZZ City Yadda, yadda Yadda, yadda >> The above is supposed to be a multicolumned list of links. But the Café doesn't seem to like tables, tabs, or monospaced placements!<< ****************** Anyways, I'm definitely not trying to present myself as a web page content expert by any means. I'm just trying to explain what I meant by what I said about the writing. Maybe my kind of writing is absolutely horrid for search engines. Personally, I'd rather read what's above than any of what you had; your sample contents just sounded to much like trying jam information in sideways over and over for some strange reason. As always, all my comments are with everything you've paid for them, plus a 10% discount! :8>) Ed |
