A question that often comes up is whats the best self working card effect ? usually amongst the answers is Devastation and Gemini twins which are both nice effects however I predict a new favourite amongst magicians will be John Careys very commercial effect called An Impossible Conclusion.
A card is selected and lost from a small group of cards in a very fare manner. A card is turned invisible and removed from the cards and given to the spectator to hold. The selection is shown very clearly to be gone from the remaining cards. you then take the invisible card from the spectator turn it over and correctly name the card. You then turn the invisible card face down again and throw it towards the remaining face up cards. Finally you spell the word impossible and on the last letter the selection appears face down amongst the face up cards. The effect is super easy, super clean and gets great reactions every time Anyone wanting to learn this very commercial effect can find it on the 24 seven dvd set by John Carey which I believe can be purchased from the man himself,as a side note not only will you learn this great effect you'll also learn some great real world magic that you will actually use. Great work John |

If you are interested in seeing what An Impossible Conclusion looks like, it was demonstrated by Craig on this week's Wizard Product Review.

Ditto, Good stuff! Thanks.
It's not their senses that mislead, it's their assumptions.

Jon Racherbaumer more or less taught this trick in the video supplement to his column in Genii last month.
