My personal favorite is "The Zener Effect" from my "The Psychic Secrets of Dr. Crow."

For got to mention, Looch has a fantastic routine using zener cards. I haven't performed it in a very long time but it always played huge.

They are a major item for me. I always carry a pack, tied in a little silk bag along with a pendulum, in a metal AceKase so everything stays nice and neat.
I can't even begin to tell you all of the great stuff in print for use with Zener cards. Compleat Magick alone will keep you busy for a lifetime. Very, very versatile and people get them very quickly. If you focus on your approach, even the simplest effect can leave folks mind-boggled. Once you build your knowledge base of the many ways to use them, they lend themselves to a lot of creativity on your part. They are a seed bed for miracles. |

My fav is one that can be seen in part on Maven's Multiplicity. He predicts on a business card which Esp symbol and which playing card will be chosen by spec. As I don't like using playing cards, I use a home made force deck of picture cards instead using a smiley face as the force.

I like to take my ESP cards into Denny's to order pancakes, hash browns, bacon, square-cut pieces of ham and seasonal star-shaped cookies without uttering a word.

I really like Looch's "Wake Up Dr. Rhine." As Darren said it always played huge.

Here's that video I mentioned.
It shows a very basic framework for a prediction: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIh8XhZtjbk Although I'm using the MK-MOD ESP test cards there, you can perform this with any of the better ESP decks around (Beyond ESP, MK-MOD and Paralabs, for example). T. |

I particularly like performing Hamman ESP. I can play it either as me receiving their thoughts, or to show them how 'intuitive' they are.

Another vote for Jazz Mentalism by Dave Humphrey super clean super effective can't think of anything stronger!
As a mentalist you must always ask yourself what if! And throughout your life you should seek to ask and answer this question over and over again, only then will your wildest dreams become a reality!

I call myself "Thomas Cooper" here because this stops the magic café appearing when people google my stage name.
Does anyone else find the term "Special User" to be a bit condescending? |

Esp Prenatural (just used it this morning) and ESP Opener. Both quick and nasty.
One demonstrates muscle memory and other other one by Banachek is a great set up. Both can be used standing up. I use small Royal cards, less precious pocket space. Decomposing in New Year

I love and use Richard Osterlind's 'ESP Stack' (Mind Mysteries Too volume 7, or the Very Modern Mindreader) and Max Maven's 'Symbalance' (Videomind volume 2 Close-Up Mentalism). I also like Maven's 'Shape Up', a nice adaptation of Al Koran's 'Five Star Prediction' (Videomind volume 2 Close-Up Mentalism). Tony Corinda's 'Third Choice' always surprises me at how strongly it plays (13 Steps to Mentalism).

I did not know you coined "jazz mentalism" Bob. I guess I did not do my homework. Heard it mostly coming from across the pond.
It is a great use of the words together though. I do not think we have many terms that can match it, most appropriate.

My original "Jazz Mentalism" piece was compiled into "The Artful Mentalism of Bob Cassidy". It originally appeared in "The Principia Mentalia". As I said, it described a very specific set of techniques and approaches used in a stand-up presentation of Q&A, which is arguably the strongest effect in mentalism.
