I got my set yesterday, and with typical obsessively focused energy, I've spent hours with this kit.
Let me preface this by saying that I don't like reviews that are way over the top for no reason. It's either a good piece of kit or it's not. And the other issue is whether or not the price is justified. Most things over the $400 mark need to be held to a higher standard. So here's some honest opinion from someone who made the purchase with a plan toward using it a LOT. You get six special lip balm tubes with very distinct scents. You get a specialized something that alerts you to which one tube has been picked up. There is a DVD. It has a handmade feel to it, but the information is there. You also get a very well made case. Maybe best of all three specially prepared markers that can accept the you-know-what's from the chap stick tubes. What's the big deal with this? If you are willing to do the Scent routine with three chap sticks you have another devastating routine ready to go. We are talking about something very different using what is essentially the same tech. Let's consider that tech for a second. With all things electronic, reliability is key. I don't know about the long term, but I can say with absolute certainty that the s*gnals have been instant and reliable. Not a single mis-step. Perfect performance. Great reliable prop. What's not so good? That's the question most don't want to deal with, I guess. The truthful answer is "not much." Comparisons with ProM**tic are inevitable here. Thus far I like the PM rec**ver better. It's more streamlined, smoother to hold and, to my mind, less likely to take damage when it travels from pocket to hand. I don't love the DVD and the routines, while serviceable, I think will be eclipsed as performers begin to really explore the possibilities offered through this remarkable device. In short, 6th Scent is a triumph, bristling with creativity and brain tickling possibility. It may just be the very best bang for the dollar available for the worker as well as serious hobbyist. I would give it a rating of nine and a half billets out of ten. Now you know. David Delightful

David,
Thank you for the honest and (quite frankly) BLINDING review I am so happy that you received your kit and it appears that as you live in Canada (all be it the other side) you are one of the first to get your 6th scent kit. I am soooooooo happy that you are having fun with it. I know I am one of the creators but I really do believe with my hand on my heart that (as you suggest) 6th scent is an extra special piece that does not come along very often that is also amazing value for money to the consumer. We have put so much (hands on) work into this and are very happy with the result. Thank you so much for taking the time to send your message! I wish you continued fun and success with your new purchase and please share your findings and thoughts as you stumble upon them All the best, Matt Johnson P.S. We are only a PM or email away should you have any questions or concerns |
