WHOO HOO better be careful before the man is in a new tax bracket! I would not go half on the book as it is unfair to the writer and publisher. If I do buy it and if ANYONE BUYS ANY magic book I would encourage them to not do this. I am being serious (Although I know you were making a joke.) about this. Magic creation and publishing in particular has litle enough money in it in the first place. If Benji put forth the effort, even if I disagree with his methods, he deserves what he is asking for the book. JUST AN OPINION. Time for Tom and lunatic to attack me again.

So then EVERY book has merrit in your eyes? EVERY book should be looked at in this fashion? NONSENSE!!
ESPECIALLY when it is said many times that the things in the book are rehashed! God this is pathetic.

Bill - sorry I missed the point of you humor earlier. I read it bofore coffee. That's right, I can't wait to wake up and see where this thread is at. Best thread ever.
Anybody with an e-copy of the book care to start emailing it around? Oh wait, that would cross an ethics line. But hotel banquet crashing is ok. I'm so confused. |

You know Benji's tactics and perceptions, and that he believes things are okay that others don't. The whole reason many come here is to get some insight BEFORE they decide if they want to but the book! What you're saying really defeats the purpose in the first place. Plus you're assuming that most people are interested in restaurant work. You're also assuming most people think or are interested in the way into corporate work is by restaurants. Very small target demo in my opinion. Most people that are interested in restaurant work are interested in the kids or family party market not at all corporate work. If they were interested in corporate they'd more than likely be pursuing that in more traditional methods. |

20 pages on this thread? Because Benji wrote a book? lol
Benji couldn't pay for this much publicity in our small market, holy smokes!! In fact, this type of publicity will actually HELP him sell more copies in the long run, guaranteed. Controversy sells, period. Sports, politics, reality shows and everything in between, we have seen this time and time again... Its official, Benji is the Tim Tebow of magic marketing! I'm not for him or against him just calling it like I see it. I just can't believe there are 20 pages in a thread about a product and only ONE person has reviewed it...wow. This has been covered earlier in this thread. There is such a thing as bad press, and this isn't about the book as much as it is Benji, if you've read these 20 pages. And for the record, some haven't been spelling his name right -lol.

Also, I think a better word for this is controversy seeing that there are people coming from both sides. And yes, I believe controversy sells, we see it again and again. |

And John, then to try to go halves on the book? Glad Danny did the right thing. Maybe your name needs to appear on one of those performers websites? I've taken screenshots of your posts

It was purely unintentional. My sugar rush is over now so it might be a while before I come with an alien slant. And I'll be heading out in a few hours for a couple of days. And I do SINCERELY hope Benji is not taking offense to my little stories. I have no public opinion on his book (especially since I haven't read it) or his methods. My personal opinions about his methods are best left to myself. I do appreciate that he puts his thoughts, trials, and errors out for us all to see. I can learn from that. In fact I learn as much from people who do things I wouldn't as from people who do things I would. And most of the time it's a little of each from just about everyone. Like the Hokey Pokey, I think that's what it's all about. - B.H. |
