Greetings, A freind of mine wants to build a big water tank to house some small sharks in it for an illusion. He wonders what the best materials would be, how thick does it have to be to hold the water pressure etc, anyone have an experience in this?

Sharks "with frickin' laser beams", Dr Evil? Seriously, though, how practically would that travel? Salt water filtration and balance is hard enough to maintain in a living room tank. Does anyone know if this has this been done and traveled before? I ask because I have an effect that would be amazing with (not really electric) electric eels. Seriously!

With the eels you don't have to travel with them . In each town you just sell them to a suhi restuarant then get new ones in the new town!

My next door neighbor does maintaince on shark tanks for a living so I'm thinking that between him and me, we can figure it out.

Randy,
I would go with Jay on this one. If you plan to build any illusion, that contains water and may have a person inside, you MUST have a LISCENED structural/mechanical engineer go over the designs/plans. If you choose not to, you run a HUGE risk in possibly killing the sharks or a person! I have seen so many illusions built so far BELOW structural integrity standards that it scares the hell out of me that they are actually putting people into these home built death traps. Take this very seriously if your buddy plans to go forward with it. Any water themed illusion presents so much risk that it is important to cover every base no matter the cost. Hope this helps.
