Sheree, my talented wife, is meeting with literary agents and I am tagging along to carry her suitcases, open doors, keep her hundreds of groupies at bay and provide sparking water and/or ONLY green M&Ms as requested.
But that means also that I will have a lot of free time in the Great City. We've been there many times before. But I am curious: aside from Monday Night Magic and Tannen's (which has become progressively less interesting to me) is there anything I should see? I am always delighted to meet with other performers, by the way and always up for a good show. Any and all suggestions will be gratefully accepted. David

David, See my PM.
Also, there is a magic Shop called Fantasma aright across grom Madison Square Garden/Penn Station. its mostly magic and a few mentalism items. Any Broadway show would be excellent. The Metrtopolitan Musuem of Art So many things. What are you AND YOUR WIFE'S interests?
Best regards,

Who? Oh HER!
She endures magic shops but she's a huge Broadway fan...and we regularly see at least a couple of shows when we come up your way. She's also into beads and beading (uses a lot of them in pendulum designs) but we cornered the market on those during endless bead stores in LA, Mexico and Vegas. I've never been to Fantasma...but I certainly know where Penn station is. I phoned you right back, Tony. I'd like very much to meet you. David

David, if you can catch ANYTHING GOES, especially while Sutton Foster is still in it, you'll have a magical experience!

Gee. I don't know about that, Gary.
The last time someone in NYC offered me a magical experience my wallet disappeared. David PS

Count on it TJ.
Sheree, who builds all of our pendulums, has written two novels. They're both post-apocalyptic and set here in Alberta (where the temperature is currently -35, btw) -- and are built around the premise of what would happen if the power grid went down. No heat. No running water. No nada...and how people would survive. They're called Martha's Vine and Martha's Mirror. Sheree has a website up entitled (oddly enough) http://www.marthasvine.com The books are available on Amazon in softcover or for Kindle or Kobo in digital versions. Thank you for asking! David

If you become disenchanted with the city, take a couple hour drive to Woodstock. Lots of cool shops and galleries. If you go, do yourself a favor and go to the Black Bear Tavern Restaurant & Lodge nearby for some outstanding food. Just don't stay at the lodge.....

Thank you guys. Carc looks amazing. And I plan to get to Woodstock one day, although I think I may be a little late to see The Doors.

You usually need to call ahead to visit CARC but it's totally worth it if you can visit. If you're a Houdini fan or magic history buff, Fantasma has a great Houdini exhibit and a lot of costumes and props from famous magicians to gawk at in addition to a pretty good inventory and occasional sales help from that David Roth guy (I think he invented the quarter or something?). If the weather's nice, you can definitely try to buy discount theatre tickets at the TKTS booth in Times Square and it's restaurant Week in NYC with a lot of restaurants we could never afford to dine at offering Prixe Fixe 3 course lunches and dinners for $25/$35 which I understand is a mortgage payment in most of the US but a pretty good deal in NYC. Enjoy the city, I'll PM you my number in case you have any questions.
