Hi, there is the Boris Wild marking deck book and Ted Lesley's book...
Which book has a more invisible marking system? Do I get the marking material with the book? Is this worth buying? Thanks eric

Eric,
May I recommend Kirk Charles book, entitled "Marked for Life." This book is maybe $12-15 and describes pros, cons and appearances of many different marking systems. The book is a good overview that will give you a nice background and history of card marking, and then also allow you to make an informed decision as to which system you prefer. There are some great little tricks in there, also. The cat's paw trick is really cool. Jay |

I concur...Marked for Life is a complete and thoughtful look at marking systems.

No. Marked for Life compares and contrasts various card marking systems which use different materials to mark cards. Some use razors, some use inks, some use other materials. Marked for Life doesn't come with any of them.
That's not a complaint about the book, which I think is wonderful and should be read by anyone considering marked cards. As for Boris Wild vs. Ted Lesley, Wild's system is a derivative of Lesley's. Some think Wild's system is an improvement, others say Lesley's is cleaner. I think it's six of one, half a dozen of the other. Each book does come with the material needed to mark your own decks. |

Personaly speaking, my vote for the best marking deck goes to Ted Lesley's Workin Performer's Marked Deck. The marking system is diabolical clever.
I had a magic friend who was investigating the backside of a marked deck, and he couldn't figure out the secret, althtough it was staring him back right in his face. Marked For Life is without the best book ABOUT marked decks, clear and simple. Can be purchased from Hermetic Press.

I highly recommend Ted Lesley's. I find the marking system is easier to read than Wild's, yet still extremely deceptive if you don't know what you're looking for. The book gives many tricks/routines with a marked deck, and enough material to mark about 5 decks. I have both the Wild and Lesley decks, and very much prefer Ted Lesley's.

Ted lesley's is fantastic. When first shown to me I had been told they were marked.I looked all over rhe back of the cards and could see nothing. Yet when you know the marking system you ask yourself how did I miss the marks. For those who have Lesley's system you know what I am talking about as they seem so obvious, and yes they are very easy to read. Another deck I have which is a mindblower is John Cornelius "Dream Deck", the marks are about 1 1/2 inches high on each card and can be seen across the room, very unique.

The effect is the important thing, how you achieve it is not.......
