I contemplated purchasing this years ago. I know the smaller one is called cube zag and I know a lot of dealers sell it. Does anyone know where I can purchase THIS particular model?

Looks like the version once sold by tilford illusions. Check out tora magic. I think there is a similar version there. Personally, I think you could do well with a cube zag from smokey mountain.

There seems to be a lot of contraversy about this particular prop. Some say it's a knock off of the cube zag and others say it's a knock off of the zig zag. I also own this exact prop, and can honestly say that the workings and positionings of the prop are all different then both "zag's." I bought it over 10 years ago from Dout Tillford when I first started putting together an illusion show and I must say it is one of my favorite "puzzle" type illusions. I really don't see it as a knock off of either mentioned props, though after seeing what Christopher Starr posted in the video here:

It looks as though the whole idea came from the Vosticube. Up until today I had never heard of the Vosticube so I can not comment on the rights, if there is any, who has them, if Dominik got them, ect.

Here is another thread about this prop

I have seen numerous sets of plans for this prop on the market as well. I can tell you that when you order this you can expect to pay about 3000 for the prop, a minimum of 400 for a case, 1200 dollars in shipping to get it over here, then you will have to hire a customs broker to receive it which will cost you another 250 dollars. In my opinion I like this effect better than both the cube and zig (keep your flames to yourself.....just my opinion, but I do think this is more deceptive) However, if I were to do it again today I would buy a cube zag from Dan Wolfe with some customized graphics to make it look like a piece of military hardware.

I own it as well. Bought it in 2003 from Tillford and it is a real surprising illusion for the audience. Especially when you do it surrounded with just 2 or 3 meters distance to the people.

With that intro of no camera tricks, no trap doors, out in the open I was expecting a plane vanish or something.

I love the "toss off" of the boys's shoes at the beginning.
