I just got a used Mind Scanner but I don't know what type of batteries it uses.
I have a lot of batteries around the house but none are the right size. The instruction say "Four (4) 1.5V/R1 type batteries" but doing a Google search with that info did not bring up anything useful. What should I be looking for? Thanks AA |

After reading the Mind Scanner instructions I was surprised with the work around they came up with regarding writing the prediction in the center of the card.
Drawing the cartoon head would be a lot of work and IMO a silly idea. I have created a couple of cards I will probably use and have ideas for other designs as well. (see attached) The first design is also an optical illusion where the white dots appear to blink black which can be pointed out and discussed. I am thinking of letting the audience member write a four letter word and then I will come close to their prediction but not exactly. For instance if they write "red" I might say your answer starts with a "C" and then give them my prediction of "crimson." I think not being exact will be more believable. I can then do another mind reading trick like Fortune Sticks which I will predict perfectly. What do you think? AA Of course I cannot do anything until I get the batteries and see how it works. It is a "N" size battery. Pretty readily available.

I got the batteries today and got Mindscanner working. I can see now why it needs so many batteries. The bulb is pretty bright.
My idea of letting the audience member write a 4 letter word might be hard especially if you view it upside down as well as backward. I think a four letter word backwards is doable, but the if it is upside down as well. Yikes! AA |
