Anyone out there have (or have made) a Slydini coin clip. I own the one Michael Ammar makes, but I'm curious if anyone has tried and succeeded in making one, and what sort of metal they used.

I had a friend make me one out of spring steel and I use it all the time. I also made one out of the old banker clips that use to be readily available in office supply stores, but these days they are harder and harder to find unless you get them online. The banker clip version that I made was made to handle Peseta coins, and it works very well but is slightly less springy than the one I had made. That does not seem to hinder the operation/use of the clip though because it works very well.

I Made my own using a sprin steel clip for holding production paper flowers. Gorilla glued a half dollar sh*** to it, allows for four halves to be inserted in staggered ribbin fashon, then slosed and vanished silently.

The two coin clips are different. Michael Ammar's one holds the coins by their edges and Slydini's one hold them by their faces.

Now these coin clips were majorly used for lapping or topiting several coins at the same time without any noise.

Does any one use them for another result?

Yea I know someone who uses the Ammar clip to hold a stack of 10 halfs by there edges For a climax to the slot machine! He puts a loop on it for the steal!

I've bought 3 Slydini coin clips over the years from Tannen's. They may still make them (is Tannen's still open?)

Hmmmm. The loop on the clip isn't a bad idea. This moves it from sitting to stand-up (for a vanish) . . . I may need to think on this.

Using a dove steal is a good idea. You might want to also try a slide dispenser type gaffus to finish the trick in the Ganson book(volume 1) with a piece of paper with a slot ... with a slot machine finish

Yea He Put it in an upper vest pocket. And keeps the wand sticking out of the same pocket! Makeing the steal easy!!!

David, did you find that other slot machine trick in Ganson's Art of Closeup Magic? It's got potential.

I have used the Ammar clip for productions, and on occasion, both producing and vanishing a stack in the same routine. I also found the Slydini clip to work very well on stage for a coin manipulation sequence. The Slydini clip made it easier in some aspects because, as Etienne pointed out, they are held by the faces with that clip.

Does anyone have the Tony Slydini exact apartment address that he had on West 46th street, NY, NY ?
I know it was near Hell's Kitchen and the waterfront.
Somewhere near the Theater district. . . .
But, would like to have the exact street address so I can
"look-a see" on Google Earth and just see. . . .
just visit the neighborhood. . . .on google earth,
and get a feel for the area.

I know, the neighborhood has changed in 20-30 years and if it was a street level apartment
like Dick Cavett mentions in this blogs . . .
it has probably been turned into a business front, with real estate that valuable,
right at street level.
I watch-a 'ed Slydini live on Dick Cavett when I was a kid and it
REALLY STRUCK ME.
I sort-of remembered what his coin work was like. . .
and now. . . refreshed memory with the several video clips from Cavett online now.
