Hmmm, perhaps I wasn't clear. Once again if you read my final paragraph, I'm calling it the "last day" which surely indicates the end of the world. Not hard to understand, hey? I'm paying 100 to one if you're betting the world will end. You pay me one dollar if you lose. I pay you one hundred dollars if you win. Now, surely you can find some humor in that, since if the world ends, how might I pay you your one hundred dollars? In other words, it was a joke Sunshiine!

Seriously, there are some on this earth that truly live quite willing to become savage beasts roaming the lands.
What is it that elevates us from the animal kingdom? And why cant we cling to that, and eduucate the world how important it is to cling to that? Kam

However, I do believe that the very fact that you are a humorous person is one of the beautiful aspects of your being that elevates you to a higher plane than an animal or a savage beast, so why does such a humorous and joyous man (that you are) wish to abase himself by killing the nearest person who may be coming to ask for some water from you after a major natural disaster? Because like it or not, it's a cruel world out there and if you can't survive on your own, you won't. No *** government is going to look after you, none of your neighbors are going to look after you and if you don't think there's a savage in all of us that hungers for survival, talk to the survivors of that plane crash in the Andes decades back who resorted to cannabalism to survive. Stories like this are commonplace. When things get tough, the Cum-Baya approach fails every time.

To further illustrate my point, and it saddens me to have to bring this up, but during the Holocaust, Jews turned in fellow Jews to gain favors with their captors. It's about survival man.

Personally I would rather die than kill someone else, I personally aspire to reflect my higher nature in all things. That doesn't mean I would never defend myself, I would, but not to the point of killing others.
Yes, its a cruel world out there, and it will remain so unless we get off our backsides and DO soemthing rather than taking the easy approach and killing off the nearest neighbour who we neglected to educate spiritually. I guess, the first step is to educate ourselves spiritually hey? Theres a lot of work to be done, and boy, its so sad that the numbers willing to do the work are so few..... http://reference.bahai.org/en/t/b/GWB/gwb-5.html Kam

Nah, not my style.
I'm very happy with who I am, I make no apologies to anyone for my beliefs and I'm a contented man in the Universe. I have a great wife, no kids, and I've had some real good dogs in my life. You go your way, I'll go mine. Nice to meetcha' though. Have fun trying to remove the savage beast from of all of us. But I'd still advise a gun or two, if for nothing else just to be able to shoot some food, as one poster has already stated. Hopefully you'll never have to use it. But when and if you do, you might thank me. And once again, enjoy your folly

And I'm 100% certain that MY neighbors have got my back, just as I've got theirs. Not that any of this would matter...since it's the end of the world that we're referring to here. If 99% of all civilization is gone, I'm guessing there will be more than enough food to go around until the remaining 1% die off due to boredom because everything around them has been destroyed, and if you can't watch TV anymore, it ain't worth it.

I KNEW I would get the anti gun folks riled up!! I love it!!!! Y'all just don't get it. You're living in la la land!
Hey, hold onto your bleeding heart ideals. You'll just make it easier for the rest of the survivors out there. And Kam, I can absolutely guarantee you that if someone is shooting to kill you, that you will absolutely keep your head down and try to shoot that person before he shoots you. I know, you think I'mm some right wing extremist, but I actually voted for Jimmy Carter in 1976. My worst voting decision ever. Nice guy, but couldn't run a country to save his Georgia tail. Anyway, I digress. I learned a long time ago you can't make any headway with certain kinds of thinkers. So with that, Peace, Love, and let's gather around the campfire. Y'all pick the song. Me? I'm going to to the range tomorrow.

Bob, don't for one second think that I'm an anti-gun activist, I live in Australia mate, I haven't got time to involve myself in US politics etc.
However, the fact still remains, we can choose to live in caveman times (but with better weapons) and just go about killing whoever we wish to, or we can aspire to more noble actions and educate people that there are better ways to live your life. Its not lalalala land buddy, its a reality that there ARE better ways, and those better ways are being put into practice everywhere around the globe. You just need to be willing to open your mind just that tiny bit (rather than say "I make no apologies to anyone for my beliefs and I'm a contented man in the Universe") and maybe, just maybe you will be surprised and maybe you will even refrain in the future from calling me a fool ....many would react to that in an aggressive way, I personally wish to keep lovingly persevering to remove the veils that are clouding your eyes from the Light of Reason..
