I want to prictice some routines of shoot ogawa, but I realize the angle is very important thing in his routine, but it is dificult for me to get the best angle for the coin trick, even in the bullet coin through bottle, I would miss the angle sometime. The problem is, there different height and distance to the spectator, so they will get the different angle. I don't know how to practice with the mirror to get the correct angle in the preform. How do you guys practice that?

Sometimes practicing in front
of a mirror.you can see things that a spectator can't see. because of the angle.have a friend or someone watch you do the routien and tell you how it looks to them. when I do a back palm or clip of a coin in front of a mirror I see the coin easily. because of the distance between the mirror and me.but done closer to a spectator it is not seen. |

You won't really know until you perform for some real spectators and then ask. Sounds difficult but when learning it is truly the only way to know.
I could not get that through my own thick head - and a lot of times I still can't! I don’t get to perform for people other than family very often, so naturally I want it to already look perfect when I finally do. But it really doesn’t work that way. I have a 3-pane practice mirror and I also have a mini-cam to record myself. Still, you don’t really see it as it looks to others. I never discovered some flashes until I performed and then literally asked for honest critiques. Jim |
