The gaff certainly is much simpler than the initial speculation in the thread.
Initially, the start of the routine I was thinking "this isn't much new," but as the routine continued I saw it was certainly more than just the "gaff" being sold, which is rare, but wonderfull when it happens.

At Steve's workshop for "3" at the Magic Apple, he stated that he has a lot of spare gaf cards in stock. It didn't sound like he was trying to charge a lot for them if someone wanted to buy extras.
I'd contact the Magic Apple to see how to get in touch with him. He may have a website too, but I haven't looked it up. |

Just got mine. Have to say...this is the best routine of it's kind I have seen. Ever. I've seen a lot of Monte stuff. This just rocks. You do get two gimmicks. High quality US Playing Cards. Each should last hundreds of workings. Really do hope extras will be available.
Honestly..I would understand if not. Whatever...what you can do is just cool. Best,
Brad Burt

I would genuinely hope they start sell them sometime in the future. For what it's worth in my opinion this genuinely could become a modern day classic. As Brad says above it really 'rocks!'. Worth every single minute of the practice required to pull it off.

Just had an email back from Brent Geris of the Magic Apple...
Replacement gaff cards should be available in around 3 weeks time for the Memorial Day weekend. Great news!

Another note on replacement cards.
No doubt additional gaff cards should be purchased with this effect becuase of the potential wear and tear during practicing. However, the sleight itself with the gaff card doesn't always have to be practiced with the gaff. The repetition of the sleight can be practiced with regular playing cards too. This is one way to prevent having to buy a lot of spare gaff cards. |

I wonder are they common gaffs you get in a gaff pack and your really paying for the routine?

I'm doing all my prelim work with regular cards. There's a lot you can do before you have to use one of the two 'special' cards that come with the trick. This is HOT. Best, most visual routine of it's kind I've seen. A couple of the phases are so good that even knowing how they work and that they are coming up I miss the work every time. The explanation could be age.... but, the routine is extraordinarily well constructed at all points and the 'end clean' finale just rocks.
But, again, you can do a LOT of practice without wearing either of the specials. Best,
Brad Burt

Well Mr. Burt, with that last comment I think you have sold me! I was on the fence, though admittedly falling off on the side of purchasing. I already have SO many monte effects as it is. Now, however, I am definitely getting this!
Thank you. Jim |

I can't imagine you won't be happy. The thing is really cool. And, you really can do tons of practice without having to use the gaffs. For instance if you are worried about "hitting" the correct mark on the cards just use a fine point sharpie to put lines on a card and MOCK IT UP as a gaff! Now, you don't have to worry that when you start using the real thing your movements will be off at all...although to tell you the truth...that's almost impossible to do once you see how it's done, etc. But, seriously it's EASY to make a mock set for practice, etc.
Best,
Brad Burt

It's a very low tech trick with cool results. I know I don't post much, but everything you see on his youtube videos is attainable with a bit of practice. Defintitely, not a knuckle buster.
No one likes to buy an over hyped trick and be underwhelmed, but after going to his workshop, a few of the guys were already talking about putting it in their wallet as their standby trick. It's solid. |

OK, I'm a little confused!
First, a link to where you can purchase it would be nice. But I did manage to find The Magic Apple and see it for sale there, but... it claims it is still a "pre-order". True? I thought it was released. Hmm, the front page says it's "In Stock", but the purchase page says "THIS IS A PRE-ORDER" in caps just like that. Am I in the wrong place? Thank you. Jim |

They were selling it in the shop....not sure why you can't find it. Call and find out. Brent Geris is very helpful. Google is your friend.
