I am looking for tricks/effects that teaches act of Kindness.Anyone kind enough who has an idea(s) to share? Or can direct me to some resource? I don't mind making the props if it's neccessary.I am sure I have many props that can be used but having a brain cramp at the moment.
Thanks and Deeply appreciated.

WWDDD?
It's kind of tricky because kindness is rather vague and can cover a lot of actions. What kind of show is it for? Here's how I would would work out an idea. I'd use a mind map(heh). I'd write kindness in the middle of a large sheet then do a mind map with everything I can think of connected to kindness going off from it: Sharing, Giving, Nurses, Patience, David Devant, Samaritans, sacrifice. Then think words connected to each of those words. Then go through all of those words and see if you can relate it to an effect or an idea. |

Check out Good Seeds and Bad Seeds from Barry Mitchell's products. That's a good routine and fairly easy to perform.

When I perform Miser's Dream for children, I explain that when you do good deeds, money grows in your head. I ask the children to "imagine a good deed," (I give them examples) reach up, take an invisible coin and throw it towards the pail.

Barry Mitchell also has a "smile maker" sponge routine that you can alter the patter a bit to work in kindness.
I have a routine called "what's on the inside shows on the outside" where several children reach into the bag to pull out one heart balloon. each heart is a different color. a bit of patter for each color choice. The "magic" is using the change bag to 1) ensure the correct color is chosen last & 2) I can add comedy with other objects coming out of the bag when they're supposed to choose a heart balloon. |

Maps,
Check out the book do the Stuff That's you by, I think Chris Carey? My copy is lent out at the moment. There is a great routine with spongeballs and a mess of other props about warm fuzzies and cold pricklies. You might find it applicable. Pete |
