Steve Fearson is producing this. I think this is going to be THE release of the year.
http://www.emagicsupply.com/index.php?ma......s_id=308 The blurb: You'll receive the Web Spinner gimmick, John Haar thread, Vectra Line, magician's wax, printed instructions and access to an bonus online video. Routine ideas included: Floating bill, floating card and a floating ball hookup for stage. This item is scheduled for release March 1st 2012. The initial run will be limited to 100 units. We are currently taking pre-orders which will be filled on a first-come first-serve basis. Reserve yours now and we'll ship it the minute it arrives, absolutely FREE anywhere on earth! ———————————————————————————————————————— The Web Spinner is a magical tool designed by a real worker over a lifetime of performances. It’s not an optional accessory. It is a MUST HAVE device for any magician, in the league of the thumb tip. It’s simply how thread work should be done. BONUS! Another mind-blowing modification from Steve Fearson that turns your Web Spinner into a reel! Cause dollar bills to fly to your hand and more. Pull out the thread and it will retract smoothly and efficiently, like any other reel. If you’ve been waiting for the gimmick that would take the fear out of thread work and get you floating stuff NOW... look no further than Amazing JoeJoe’s Web Spinner! Pop the Web Spinner in your pocket and you’re ready to levitate, animate and suspend objects at a moment’s notice. The Web Spinner is the original All-In-One thread device! STORE IT! Your thread is protected and stored in an unwound state. No wrapping and unwrapping every time you need a new piece. STRIP IT! The Web Spinner turns the most tedious part of thread work into something downright simple. It almost strips the thread for you. You have to see it to believe it! SPOOL IT! Functioning as a spooler, the Web Spinner can release a predetermined length of thread before stopping and automatically locking it in place. WAIT! We almost forgot... it handles your wax too! And it does all of this with no motors, no batteries and no elastic bands! |

Yes, we will have the new thread tubes ready to ship by March 1st. They'll be packaged as "Steve Fearson Presents the Amazing JoeJoe's Web Spinner".
Thanks to Steve Fearson, the new tubes do not use putty to secure the thread inside - you can now replace the thread as easily as tying your shoes! You will get a tube with his John Haar invisible thread and get a strand of his Vectra thread. Both strands will come prepared to fit inside the tube so you can swap out the threads to use which ever you prefer. Use Haar thread today, replace it with Vectra tomorrow, and then go back to Haar's the next day! The John Haar thread is the most invisible thread available today, and my Web Spinner makes it the easiest thread to strip - so easy you can even strip it blindfolded! And his Vectra thread is the strongest thread ever, able to support an entire deck of playing cards. This will be a winner for sure ... I have no doubts about that. http://www.emagicsupply.com/index.php?ma......s_id=308 -JoeJoe

I have such good feelings about this. For what you get, I can't believe this is only $20.

Yes, I ordered mine. I guess after those pens that Fearson sold a while back I became disappointed in him. I hope you guys are correct and this is as good as it should be comming from Fearson.

Wasn't there a z webs IT device already? Any similarities?

They are hard to find, it took four magic shops before I found one in stock. I don't think he makes them any longer. The first difference I spot is that the z-webs is disposable, you throw it away and buy another one when you are done with it. You can refill my tube with whatever color/brand/length of thread you want. You can make a 25 foot tube for stage work if you want. The stripping process is different ... with z-webs, the thread stays inside the tube and you strip it from it's compressed form. When you open my tube, you can pull the thread out and strip it the same way you do if it were hanging on your wall. When you strip out a strand, the remaining strands end up back inside the tube, and you put the cap on to store them there until you need to reset again. With either system, you do not have to strip inch-by-inch, so both are easier for a beginner than straight thread work. Z-webs comes with "putty", I don't like putty. I'm sure some people that started with putty may prefer it but I started with wax and find it far superior to putty. Wax holds better, especially with heavier objects. I made the decision early on that my tubes would have real genuine magician's wax with them, and not some cheap imitation I can buy at bulk from the hardware store. I'm not trying to start a putty-vs-wax debate, if you prefer putty just put putty on the bottom of my tube - it will hold putty just as easily as it holds wax. Some drawbacks to the z-webs: it only has 4 feet of thread in it, which is not enough for a floating cigarette hookup. I also think that if you are not using the full four feet, and you break the thread, you could end up with a lot of strands hanging out that are not a full length. On the plus side: z-webs is lighter than my tube, which reduces the potential for breakage. With all that being said ... I believe that most of the things you can do with my tube (ie: hummer card hookup, reel hookup, pocket hookup) you can do with a z-webs, it's just nobody has thought to do these things with it. I tested it with my pocket hookup and my hummer card hookup. It does work with my reel hookup, but with only four feet of thread it holds no advantage over the pocket hookup. And one last point, since I have used the phrase "whatever color/brand/length you want" I should clarify that my tube was designed for the standard invisible thread only. You can put Kevlar in it, but you have to push the thread into the tube with your fingers - you can't strip it into the tube like regular thread. I have never really used it as a hookup for Kevlar or Vectra, I have always held the position that it is better to make the object lighter than to make the thread stronger. But I will try to find some time to find out. I do carry a tube of Kevlar with my dancing wand, but only in case I need it (which to date I never have knock on wood). I don't think the current tube will work well with elastic thread ... but ... Steve Fearson has made a major design improvement that eliminates the need for the putty inside the tube, and I believe the new design will work with elastic thread! I'll find out soon. -JoeJoe |

I ordered two of these today. I'm not too fond of working with IT,
due to the stripping process, (not the table dance kind). JoeJoe's Web Spinner solved my issues, he sent me a secret link to help me better understand the process. He wore a blindfold and did it without any problems in the video. Ask him for a link if you purchase it.... I particularly liked his suggestion to perform a levitation with his method in conjunction with loops to take some of the heat off any single method. Great thinking JoeDeuce! |

Since posting that, I have received a supply of Steve's Vectra thread and can say it works great with the tube. It is harder to strip than nylon/kevlar, but is also the strongest of all threads. The Web Spinner will come with BOTH regular invisible thread and Vectra thread. You can take swap the threads with great ease, as easy as tying your shoelaces. So use Vectra today, and tomorrow swap it for the regular thread, and the next day go back to Vectra. Easily. -JoeJoe

If this one is similar to the Gimmick invented in Switzerland in the Eighties, this will be definetly a Winner,
because the Gimmick (I use it since 1986) is build up in an allday Object and to retain the broken thread, it takes a Second:) Looking forward for some Reviews and wish you good Luck for the Release:) Best

Just so ya'know ... the first shipment of tubes are on their way to Steve Fearson, everything is on schedule for the March 1st launch - that would be Thursday! Very excited here.
I believe he has sold out the initial launch, but we have more supplies on order ... shouldn't be long till we can re-stock, first come first serve. If anyone is in the South Carolina area, I have a lecture March 1st in Columbia - I'll have tubes available and we will be going over how to see the thread, how to strip the thread, how to light the thread, and nearly everything else anyone could ever need to know about being a thread worker: March 1st 7:30pm St Paul Lutheran Church 1715 Columbia South Carolina -JoeJoe

Sorry to jump in here again Joe Joe, but I am in love with this.
If you have never done thread work before or even have, you need these 3 things. Jhon leclair's book the art of invisible thread. Steve Fearson's Master levitation system. Joe Joe's web spinner. Bring your imagination along for the ride. JoeJoe you have brought to the table what was missing AWESOME! Ok I am out, I am in love with this!
