Now I'm really psyched. I don't understand how a little "thing" can be such a big deal.
And please no "that's what she said." |

I got it today. That thread is INSANE! I can't wait to get some hookups going that I can use at work.

I love my Web Spinner. It's such a simple device, but it does SO much in the little time that it takes to operate it! It blows my mind how I can have usable IT on me on a regular basis.

Thank you all for kind words - Craig, I too hope to see your thread work someday.
Kevlar never fit into the tubes right, but Vectra does and I can use it for my floating stick trick - so I'm just as excited as everyone else about the Web Spinner! Now I can reset my floating wands right on the pitch. "Insane" is a good word to describe that thread. I'll be filming the Web Spinner DVD at the end of summer and it will include my secret floating stick trick. My innovations on the dancing cane, more details to come later (including video). -JoeJoe

Ask a magic dealer what the kids request most and the answer you'll most likely get is "the spinning card". I used to feel bad when selling material that would frustrate most people to the point of giving up on IT work all together. I mean open most "float" packages and all you get is yarn and wax and vague instructions on what to do. What a let down and that makes customers angry. Joe Joe has came up with an idea that makes my karma meter happy. IT work is now made easier for most anyone to grasp and I'm not guilty about selling it. The effort required to obtain what you need is little so you can focus on the effect. I added my own hook up to the spinner and it makes it a breeze to do most IT effects in a tshirt. No worry on breakage cause it is so easy to take a time out and be ready to rock in mere minutes. Also the slight modification helps with weight distribution if you choose to use it as an ITR. From a demo point of view, the Spinner resets in seconds. Reset-ability and effect are the selling points in most shops. Whats more, using this device will give folks the confidence to explore the edges of IT work. This could be the sleeper hit of 2012...most kids want to float something thanks to t.v. and now anyone can.

I was one of the first purchasers of the Thread Tu-... gah. Webspinner (sorry, still stuck on the original name) and have to say that this is one of those "Why the heck didn't I think of that" items.
Now normally I'd estimate I use an ITR for 90% of my IT work; I'm one of those rare folks who actually likes using an ITR and knows how to care and feed it. Since getting the Webspinner I'd say that percentage is now about half and half. This puppy is invaluable for static line work (LeClair, ect) and has the major advantage that you can keep ALL of your IT and supplies in a space less than 4" long. If you're a believer in "Pack Small/Play Big" then this product is right up your alley. Like most performer, my pocket space is at a premium and I think very carefully about what goes in there. I can now say that the Web Spinner is one of the first things I load up before I perform. IT'S THAT GOOD. DON'T be decieved by the simplicity of the device- that is it's strong point! What other device can you think of that allows you to go from a 3' length of IT to a 20' length IN UNDER ONE MINUTE? You can use it as an ITR, a static line, a gravity reel... this is made by a thread worker for thread workers. GET ONE. You won't be sorry.

This applies to all performers, strollers working out of their pockets, close-up guys out of a briefcase, or even touring stage performers working out of a truck - the smaller the truck, the less gas = more profits. If you are like me and prefer tape to tie objects up with, then Office Depot sells a small tape dispenser ... roughly the same size as a small box of orthopedic wax. Easier than carrying a roll of Scotch around. : ) -JoeJoe

Do you use that dispenser JoeJoe? What types of things would it be used to attach to?
Thanks, DD |

Yes ... I use it to tie up flying playing cards and cigarettes. You could use it to tie up just about anything.
I have a metal cigarette case ... holds a pack of smokes so they don't get crushed. Inside the case I keep a Web Spinner, pop-up tape dispenser, and a thing of orthopedic wax. Has a belt clip, so everything I need to make something float without giving up any valuable pocket space. -JoeJoe
