Hey.. anyone selling any used harnesses and pockets?.. I figured why pay 30 something bucks when someone elses garbage can be my treasure =P... I know this isn't the correct section to post this in.. and you can move it if you wish.. but I figured not alot of the dove workers go into the section this is supposed to be in.

Thanks guys..

Anyone who sells you dove pockets for $30 is ripping you off! You can make your own, just make sure you use the right material(heavy slick satin), there are patterns easily available as long as you research a litle. Or just buy one that you like and have it duplicated. As for invisible dove harnesses, it is a good idea just to buy them new so you get the originals. An invisible dove harness is not something you want to screw up because if it is a bad harness or used wrong it can seriously hurt if not kill the dove. I've seen it happen and nothing upsets me more than that...well maybe David Blaine...but nevermind that. Tony Clark's harness rawks as well as Andy Amyx's. I've used both and have not seen any other models that are as safe as those. I remade the Jim Rahino version with some touches that improve it that have worked for me too. Maybe check out the magic auction.

Thanks for the advice I appreciate it.. I had old ones that I threw out because they were old and tattered. I figured I would make the reg. harnesses.. someone told me nylon and satin.. one for the pockets and the other for the harnesses.. Not sure exactly how that works.. but like you said I'll have to reasearch.

Thanks again..

btw Dan may I call you?.. a friend of mine commented extremely well on your show.. I just wanted to let you know what he thought.

Yeah, you can buy slick satin material at fabric stores really cheap. Look for remnants. You can buy enough material to make 6 pockets for about 3 or 4 dollars. Dove bags are a little more difficult to make but easy once you get the hang of it. Dan is right though about invisible harnesses. Buy them. Don't mess around with something like that.

I figured about invisible.. btw, the pockets are made out of the same material the bags are?

Dan I meant may I call you by your first name, lol.. but my phone is down right now, I'm on my cable modem, but as soon as I get it fixed I'd be glad to give you a ring.

Cheers

OH, I'm a moron. That's okay though or if you want to PM me or something...can I ask who the friend was? My dove holders aren't made out of satin, that can get WAY TOO HOT for the doves because it is so heavy of a material. Imagine yourself in like a wool sweater and sweat pants and a sweatshirt inside of a sleeping bag. That's about like what it is when the holders are made out of satin and then they're inside a satin dove holder. My invisible dove harnesses are made out of satin an adjustable velcro loop set up, similar to one that's' used for like when little kids have their velcro shoes. This is so it can be more adjustable for the doves. Yeah you can call me Dan too, I've never had someone aske me that lol, I don't care what you call me...as long as its nice. Or else I'll break your legs!!!

LOL.. probably.. I'm 6'0 so that's the first thing people go for haha.. That's a good concept about the satin.. it makes sense.. I'll experiment and see what I can do.
