But it can only bend pennies and quarters !!!
I don't think it worth $500 !!!

Why on earth would the size of the coin matter? Unless you are referring to the possibility that it won't work for similar sized foreign currency.

Anyone have a review on this?

I'll post a review... though take my words with a grain of caution... I am the writer of the directions for Sheets' Quantum Bender... though I get no royalties on sales (maybe I need to talk to John about that!).
If you are working restaurants or cocktail parties, how many quests carry half dollars or Suzies or Weeas? Not many. We experimented with making the Bender usable for these coins and decided that while it was easily possible, it made more sense to fine tune the process for our most common performance situation. For quarters to dimes (which are smaller than pennies), this works great.
Hocus Pocus just redid their description of the Bender (since now they actually have them physically in stock!)... and they are rightfully gushing about the Bender. Handling is a little gutsy, but straightforward. You are clean before the spectator knows that the magic has begun. This will last a lifetime... not like some similar products out there at a similar price.
John is having some internet connection problems right now... so I am authorized to answer some questions... others we will only answer if you have sent in your registration card, of course. This is too good to throw around.
One recommendation... the fewer of you that buy this, the better OUR acts look!

How does this differ from Yuval Kerren's bending coin gimmick....which I own and use religously

VernonOnCoins,

I also have the Yuval Kerren's bending coin gimmick. but I found it can only bend quarters or small copper coins. I cann't use it with other currency when I work outside.

Will you please PM me about your experience . Thank you

Greetings,

The Quantum Bender is one of the finest manufactured props we have ever had the pleasure of carrying. This is no dealer hype or nonsense. When our first shipment arrived yesterday, we were more than excited to see the type of quality and practicality(sp)of this product.

If you are a working performer and want to do a coin bending routine in real world situations this is a must have.

I welcome your questions and comments regarding this product. Contact me at Hocus Pocus Magic. All of here at Hocus Pocus are extremely proud to carry this product.

Goshman I was going to ask the same question...
And what are the differences with Yuval's gimmick?
I beleive euro coins are difficult to bend...

Great question about the Euros... I have some euros... but not enough that I care to actually bend them... but looking at the coins I can see that the 20c and 50c should be not problem... though they are a little thick and may require some practice. The one and two euro coins also look fine, though I don't know enough about the laminating process to predict how the two different metals will act to the bending process... though I suspect there should be no problem.

About the Kerran bender... the Quantum Bender solves several handling problems inherent in the Kerran bender. QB is much cleaner, more logical in at least two ways (you are already using part of the modus operandi and it is more logical to use this than the work-around necessary for the Kerran method). QB has no threads to strip in the dark.

QB will NOT bend half dollars. It is pretty tough to borrow them anyway... which is the real beauty of QB... you actually bend THEIR coin... though the directions also discuss other situations.

The Quantum Bender is great, extremely well made, and in my opinion, well worth the price tag if you USE it. I had previously purchased Yuval Kerren's bending coin gimmick but criticized that on this board as I was very unhappy with it. The Quantum Bender is a quantum leap ahead. Recommended!

Is the routine with the QB comparable to the one Richard Osterlind perform ?? If not, what are the main differences.
Waiting for euros reply also.

I'm thinking of this as a chance to make great money too. I could sell a pair of pliers and instructions on how to pre bend coins that you switch borrowed coins with. I'm asking for 1000.00 dollars because I'm also going to dress it up with a certificate and performance rights.

MagicMaker with QB you do not switch any coins.Anyway, may be a bit pricy but nobody forces you to buy it!And in my opinion, even if I do not plan to purchase it(since I do the same effect with no so much money),sometimes its better to sell this items expensive since I really hate to see really good effects in kids hands with minimum interest in magic.

This sounds like some pre-bent coin following the sankey's TV bend. Haha, honestly, the spectators don't really realise or care that you could have switched coins, as long as they can keep it. The Xpert device has a cool coin bending routine as well, and the coin is initialled. Great stuff as well. Has anyone here ever used this to great success? I'm wondering whether this is a worthy investment.
The issue is more of whether this effect has a huge impact on the audience, not so much of the fine quality it is made out of or what coins they bend. The silver shifter is a great utility and the original version is a half dollar which most poeple were satisfied with. Is this as good as it sounds? Is there a demo vid of this somewhere? Thanks... This is a very interesting effect...

Is this truly impromptu appearing? And is it heavy in weight -- something I'd rather leave at home when packing light?
