Honestly I wasn't super happy with the first offering...at first. Now, I'm getting ready to test it out as a 5 Phase routine that I think will really work. We'll see. I'll say this: There are a lot more possible ways to play the thing than appears at first go round.

Here's hoping that those of us seriously playing with it can interact on the RS site. We'll see.

Best,

I will be performing the first RS trick at a paid gig tonight. I have a lovely presentation for the right spectator.

I'll be back here to tell you all about my experience. Watch this space guys.

If Real Secrets does not deliver, they will not last. I think that they want to last. When Jay Sankey disappointed me one too many times I never returned to his website. And I NEVER will again- I don't care what he comes up with. When I bought an item that claimed "No IT", and I opened up the package and there was ELASTIC IT, It got me pretty upset. The producer claimed that it wasn't IT in the traditional sense of IT, but darn it, it was IT! I don't want to deal with them anymore- I wanted an effect that did not use IT, but that is what I got. BS! BS! If, after a year, I am disappointed with "Real Secrets", I will drop them like a hot potato. I don't think they want to be dropped! Now that I answered your question, FrenchDrop, please answer one for me- Do you use all of the effects that you pay for? This is not meant to start a fight- I refuse to do that. I just want to know what your success ratio is. I know that mine is not very high. I'm not sure if it is 1 out of 10, but it's got to be close!

I've been trying to get product from Sankey for 4 months with no prevail. Jay says he's all about customer service, not true. He may read all his emails, but he certainly doesn't answer them. There seems to be only a few that are truly customer friendly.
"The New York Papers," Mark Twain once said,"have long known that no large question is ever really settled until I have been consulted; it is the way they feel about it, and they show it by always sending to me when they get uneasy. "

If you recieved the bounus item with your first shipment and you didn't know what it was for then the new effect described on the RS site explains how to use what you received. It's a very interesting concept that allows you to do something you probably never imagined possible before. I've never seen anything like this before.

Performance Report

Firstly, in the spirit of my agreement with RS, I WILL NOT be divulging any
details about the actual trick itself. I don't think it's fair to subscribers.
If non-subs want to know more they should pay up and join. That said, here's how
my first performance(s) went.

My presentation relies on the spec saying one of the things they are almost
always guaranteed to say when watching magic e.g." How did you do that!". I won't
say what it is here but with a bit of thought RS subscribers will be able to
figure it out based on the premise of the trick. I may share my idea on the RS
site as it's a very strong way to introduce the effect.

The actual effect is EXTREMELY entertaining for the right spectator, i.e. one
that understands the premise of the trick.

The genius of RS thinking is that entertainment is built into the effect. The
fact that the spectator handles the beautifully made and crafted gimmick in a
way that totally draws them in is testament to RS' deeper level of thinking.
This, I believe, is the true value of being part of RS, exposure to an advanced
level of thinking and execution.

The fact it's entertaining lulls the spectators into a false sense of security
before the magic HITS THEM IN THE FACE like a brick. When Paul Harris talks
about true astonishment he is referring to tricks like this.

I will be adding the trick to my regular repertoire for the times when
spectators say 'the magic phrase'.

If this first trick is representative of the standard of future RS offerings
then I think the price for subscription is way too low.

I am glad to be part of it.

P.s. non-subs, please stop sending me messages asking for details about the
first release. I REFUSE to give any information based on my agreement with RS
and your requests are becoming increasingly annoying. If you really want to know
then pay up like the rest of the RS subscribers did. Sheesh!

In the interests of proving that you aren't a liar (because I have a hard job believing anybody would ask you anything) could I please ask you to divulge who these nonsubs (plural) are.

This indeed does sound like great fun-- it looks like, although they presented themselves badly in the first instance, RS heart and spirit is in the right place with this initiative.

Nice one for those who had faith in this. (Which doesn't include me ....Doh!)

Correct me if I'm wrong Ray but I think PM stands for "PRIVATE" message.

I am not one to go around breaking members' confidence. I believe that goes against Café ethics.

I take time out to talk about my experiences and that's the response I get. Sheesh!

From your response I take it you are a non-sub?

I couldn't say whether I am a non sub Jamie, I find your fixation with them faintly disturbing.

"Non-sub" sounds so kinky, like something out of the S&M scene. I guess a "non-sub" would be the same as a "dom" -- which is what I'd prefer to be if I was going to be on either side of that equation.

Not sure where "the RS elite" fit into this analogy, though. Smile

I see the usual non-subs are out in force. Smile

Frenchdrop, is that sort of talk really appropriate for a forum which children frequent. Says a lot about your character.

I think I'll spend my time focusing on improving my magic further (based on the growing RS information base over at the blog) while you guys continue to throw your 'jealous' stones.
