Sorry guys. This was supposed to just be a "teaser" from my 90-day training that starts tomorrow. I made it public again for now, but I'll be taking it down again in the next several days or so. I'm glad you all like it.
Mike, that's also why I can't show the entire show. People who paid for the training wouldn't like that too much. |

Kevin, it's all an illusion. I'm 32.
Yes, performing mentalism at corporate events is half of what I do. However, I consider my real business to be speaking and training corporations and associations on the topic of communication. All in all, I'm still very passionate about magic (particularly inventing and teaching close-up) and I still do the odd kids show for family and friends. |

Thanks for sharing your routine, Tim. You have some great moments there, your personality is friendly and engaging, and I especially like the bit where you lift the girl off her feet. Clearly, your show is professional and well-honed, you have the kids' attention, and the child assistant is having a great time.
I hope you don't mind me saying this, but if you performed that in the UK, you'd get very lukewarm reactions. Here, you need way, way more business. Compared to the shows I see here, the kids' reactions in your show come at a much slower pace. I normally expect strong reactions from the kids every few seconds. The magic element is not so important, but funny is. It's horses for courses, in the US, I understand that kids' expectations are different. Kids in the UK (at least in my area) probably see a magician at least every other weekend, often much more. I know you have offered your routine to others as a magnanimous gesture, and you didn't ask for a critique. But I feel it does no harm to put some perspective on things. On the other hand, you're only 32, still a very young performer. Your performance was thoroughly enjoyable, please don't misunderstand me. But there are SO many things that you could add, from gags and silly questions, to physical comedy, which would elevate the comedy in your show massively. Good luck in your new venture, and thanks again for sharing your vid. My main impression is that you have a great stage persona, and at the end of the day, this is the prima facie requirement for almost every audience. Potty |
