If you have ever wanted to perform a ‘coin in which hand’ type of effect, ‘Gerti’ is for you.  You have two coins; you ask a spectator to sign one of the coins.  You invite the spectator to place one coin in your hand and one other coin in their own hand. Without looking you are able to reveal which of you has the signed coin. You can also tell which hand holds which dated coin. 
 
Routines:
Lie Detection – You have two coins of the same denomination, one signed by the spectator. You turn around and the spectator keeps one coin and places the other in your hand. You then reveal who has the signed coin.
Dates  - You have three coins of the same denomination. The spectator mixes the coins and then places one coin in your left hand, one in your right hand, and keeps the third coin them self. You then reveal what is the date of the coin in your left, your right hand and, finally, the spectator’s hand.
Numbers – Similar to the ‘dates’ routine, but you number the coins and reveal who has which numbered coin.
Thoughts:
 
As people here on the café know I am well up for effects and idea’s that are made simple yet still have that hard hitting impact, GERTI was no exception, I have seen similar effects like this using all sorts of crazy gadgetry and electronics using magnets etc etc, Im not knocking them either as they are all good ways to perform this type of effect.
 
GERTI has something that really made my day, and that is the SIMPLICITY, the method behind this is my type of thinking, the gimmick is clever and undetectable, everything looks as it should. The lie detection routine is brilliant, simple in plot but truly baffling to the spectator; I also hear that this fooled Garret Thomas, Andy Nyman and John Archer which shows just how deceptive this is.
 
Overall:
 
GERTI is a great little effect, can be carried around with you at all times, takes up no pocket space and works in all enviroments.

You don't mention if this would look a bit out of place in the U.S or Europe?
Do you have to take out an English coin?

Hello! There is going to be a US and Euro version in the next few days.Thanks for asking!

I had a friend buy this at Blackpool. Super simple in method but so deceptive in routine. I'm waiting for the euro version to arrive.

We are working on the US and European versions at the moment. We will let you know when they are available.

We are waiting to receive a batch of US Quarters to make the US version. We are hoping over the next couple of weeks.

So no european version in the near(!) future...

European ones will be coming as well
