So I have been practicing card to mouth and the way I do it is: Spectator freely selects a card (Or so they think). I then reveal I know what it is and tell the spectator to put it in a fan of cards. After they look up from pushing it in they see the card is now in my mouth. Is this a good way to present it?

As good as any. I do a similar effect during my ambitious routine. If it's not during an ambitious then you might want to not let them know that you know what it is. Much more impressive in my opinion.
I also do another card in mouth that uses a mercury fold and then the whole deck is placed in my mouth for comic effect. When I pull the deck out I fan though and as they are looking down at the deck, I push the folded card out of my mouth. In that effect they are thinking 1. how did he know what my card was 2. how did he get it 'from the middle of the deck' and 3. how did he fold it. When they ask how I folded it (depending on the situation as this can be very inappropriate) I say "You don't even want to know what my tongue can do" which goes down well for me mostly in club settings. :) Hope that helps. |

The way I present it is as if I read their mind and worked out what the card was and then it transports to my mouth. The ambitious routine sounds good though

I do it as in a short version of ACR. I like when it is extended to other impossible location like under the box, in the wallet, in the spectators pocket,...
