Thanks, England.. If anyone wants to watch it from the UK, I found this link: http://af.p4fb.com/b.php?u=Oi8vd3d3Lnlvd......=norefer The effect he does is very similar to this one, which Luke Jermay did in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xskRXIst0qM Probably because they were still working together in that time.. It's a nice subtlety that he also gets what he was thinking about before changing his mind. |

No problem. Found it recently and think its a great video. Terrific showmanship skils as well as some beautiful effects.

Would anyone know where this routine is published?

TJ, the genesis for this routine and many, many others are to be found in the rich history of publications from the greats, spanning over 100 years. I am not being snarky in my reply to you, but, I think if you want to really perform mentalism that has meaning for you ,then, you owe it to yourself to get reading!

Thank you for your advice sir. And believe me, I have been doing so. I have been studying material, and gathering and adhering to advice from many amazing performers. I am immensely greatful for all the advice I have received from so many working professionals here at the Café. I spend hours daily pouring over material that had been either recommended to me, peeked my interest through my own research, or that I have been lucky enough to receive through the generosity of the artist who published the work. I constantly contemplate and work to adapt what I am learning to adapt and fit what I am learning to my own personality and mannerisms to prevent becoming just another copy cat performer

I love the comments for some of these YouTube videos - there are some hilarious ideas as to how he did it (mostly far more impossible than the actual method).
At the end of his show An Evening of Wonders where he pulls a roll of paper out of a tube in a locked box and has seemingly predicted everything that would happen during the show, one commenter suggested in all seriousness that it was a very convincing, paper-like electronic display 'because they can spend millions on these shows'. Far easier, and cheaper, would have been to sneak a real roll of paper into the box but that didn't really seem to cross his mind! |

Completely agree with you psychospiel. Can I just say the guy who thought of the word at the beginning was genuinely freaked out. Great reaction.

Take this one from Derren's presentation of 'Out of this World': "The dead folks pictures' looked less happy compared to the alive people. Less happy pictures are purposely chosen for the people who are dead and happier pictures are chosen of the people who are still living. Given the atmosphere of the experiment, the person is most likely to put happier looking pictures of people in a seperate pile." Lovely, but unfortunately not guaranteed to be right in every performance, so it's not making my set list! |
