The House of Fakini is now making billiard ball droppers for their silicone balls. They are rather expensive (out of my ballpark) but if one of you decide to splurge and get one, give us a review. They are available from Denny & Lees.
Thanks, FC |

I think the Fakini products are way over priced. There really is nothing special about the balls other than they are silicon. Super balls at a toy store are the same thing.
You may be able to find something at a golf shop that would work as a dropper for 1/4 the price. |

Check it out, Markis. I will try to do the same. If we find something, we can post it in the howedittits section.

However you will find that the casting seam is much more noticeable on these toy store balls than on the Fakini. The Fakini sh--- is perfect. The dropper seems pretty high priced but if it works flawlessly it might be worth it compared to a home brew version. |

I know I have used cloth ball droppers for at least three decades, but who said they have to be cloth? Mine were homemade because in the dark ages I worked in white costumes and droppers came in any color black. Once my hair turned white I had to change costumes or sell Glad Bags. When will dealers give senior citizen discounts?
Incidentally, my ball droppers also double for flower tubes. Why make life complicated? Bob Sanders Magic By Sander |

Silicon is an element that is the basic incredient in sand. Silicones are chemicals that are based on the silicon element. Not all High Bounce Balls are silicone. Most of them now are made of a variant on polyvinyl chloride. The difference between the balls Fakini sells and the ones you buy at Wal-mart is drastic. For example, if you put a Fakini golf ball next to a real golf ball, except for the lack of a trademark and a slightly lower shine, they look very much alike. Cheaper solid plastic golf balls show a seam. The same is true of the high bounce balls you get at Wal-mart. You can see the seam. But this is not about the Fakini balls. It's about the Fakini ball droppers. If they work flawlessly, they are worth the money to a professional. If they don't, they aren't.

I can speak from experience. The Fakini Ball Dropper is a very well made (sturdy) prop that performs flawlessly EVERY time.

Is there anything available to use as a 2 1/4" ball dropper?

Although my newest droppers are really for eggs in my show, I have hundreds of friends using them for everything else. JamesinLA says he is using them for Fakini balls. Others are indeed using them for 2.25" real billiard balls.
There are some notes in the Silk and Egg discussions on The Magic Café that also relate to that. Life is full of surprises. (I also use mine for a can of V-8!) Bob Sanders Magic By Sander |

I have a Fakini ball dropper and it works just fine. However, I prefer to use cloth droppers instead because they end up flat when empty.
Magic is where you find it.....
