I wouldn't ask magicians for fashion advice, free or otherwise. Smile

Why thank you sir! I think you've just proved you don't need any advice on fashion. Smile

I've had a go with a Nils Pol and they handle beautifully. I've been tempted to get one but for my character I prefer the shape and look of a bowler. I'm not a juggler though and only do a tiny bit of hat manipulation to accent my act rather than a whole routine. They're also very heavy to wear and I suspect it would make me overheat if I were to wear one for as long as I wear my bowler onstage. My bowler is a single ply Dube.
I think if I had to choose colours for a custom hat it would match the very simple colour scheme I've gone for in my act of black, white and red. I think I'd just get two colours in a hat though.

I thought you were Neal...(bada boom)

I'd at least try to color co-ordinate with whatever you're wearing. For example, if you're wearing a silver vest, a black hat and brim with a silver band would work nicely.

I think the message is that it doesn't matter, I agree I've done shows all dressed up and I've done them in jeans and tee shirts either way I seem to fail to make any money...
I was put on this earth to do a great many things..... I'm now so far behind that I don't think I'm ever going to die!

I've tried doing shows in ordinary clothes (as ordinary as my clothes get any way). Didn't work, I wasn't the magician, just a bloke doing tricks.
Costume helps me get in the right head space.
