Will this hat be okay for use with a medium to large hat load such as grapefruit or melon?

I haven't handled a Nils Pol, but generally you need a "soft" hat so you can grip the load from the outside of the hat. For example, my rigid Bowler isn't suited as I'd have to "break" the shape to squeeze the hat enough to hold a load.
No trees were killed in the making of this message, but a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

Nils Poll hats are the best on the Market in my opinion, they are hand made perfect weight!
They have perfectly round brim so you can put on you head the wrong way round and wont be noticed, unless your head is all ready wrong way round then it wont matter, I guess. Now as far as looks I like the short bowler, it looks more like the real thing they do seem hard to sauce, so I suggest you seek out Nils Poll him self! The high bowler makes you look like you have an egg for a head. As for colour your spoilt for choice. You can crush them, work them, beat them, sleep in them, sweat in them saying that try to keep rain of them they are made of wool. |

And they ;last forever.... I have had the same hat for 10 years and it still keeps its shape....cant go wrong.... not that I know anything at all
