Are there books or videos devoted solely to effects with roughed cards?
In another thread, the online video "Roughed by Craig Petty" was mentioned: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......m=203&10 (6th post) which only has effects with roughed cards. I looked at Denis Behr's archive, in the "Gaffed Card" category http://archive.denisbehr.de/tree.php and while there are many effects listed, they seem to be scattered among many (good) books; there doesn't seem to be a book devoted to the topic. I've been reading "Switch" recently; it covers the bill switch in so many different ways and presentations. I was wondering if there's anything comparable for the subject of roughed cards - or is this maybe a market niche that needs to be filled by a good writer? (Hint, hint...) Regards, Larry S. Edit: I just found one book mentioned in a Café post (Note to self: search Café *before* posting, not after!): Roughingly Yours Roughingly Yours - Berg and Aldini - Not just another book of card tricks, but a collection of nearly 36 effects which anyone can do with the aid of the rough and smooth principle. Includes complete instructions and routines for 12 special decks, worth many times the price of the book. |

I think it would be a good idea to include books that have chapters dedicated to the rough and smooth principle.
For example, David Regal's Close-Up and Personal has some neat rough and smooth effects. |

The Encyclopedia of Card Tricks has a chapter entitled "Card Mysteries Employing Diachylon" which has many tricks that depend on cards adhering together, as in the rough and smooth principle.

I might release an effect with 3 bonus effects that relies on rough and smooth. I am thinking about it...

David Penn's "Roughed" FREE video can be found on his WizardFXTV website. It goes over many routines you can use with roughed cards, and how to make them. Check it out!!!
