Well since McBride was Sheridans student. The Sir Walter Scott statue makes sense to me. But then again McBride could have performed in front of various statues in nyc.

Funny, I thought the Scott statue was too obvious so guessed the Alice Wonderland statue (which does exist) in Central Park.

Tom you are a great sport! And I misread it the first time I read it as well. You read NYC magician and statue and your mind automatically thinks jeff sheridan and walter scott. I didn't kow for sure if it would be the scott statue or not for McBride but I figured it must have been if sheridan was his mentor.
