Reed McClintock...where are you?
On Reed's "Coin Ovations" there is a teaser for help/tips on CP multiple coins. After getting and watching Coin Patriot I am more frustrated than ever. I fumble and bumble like crazy in my pocket! (Practice young Jedi…) BUT! Is there something I may be overlooking here? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Josh

Hey Josh,
I must say that the best cover for classic palming a TON of coins is to talk with your audience. The less you concentrate on your pocket and the more you concentrate on them the less they will see. I tend to finger palm the stack and then remove my hand from my pocket before classic palming the coins. This way it does not look like you are having a REALLY good time at their table, if you know what I mean. Corey |

When Reed is classic palming the coins in his pocket, he has the room in there to do so.
(I think he made his pockets bigger) But you may find, by taking all the coins out of your pocket and classic palming them behind your back, (It works, I've done it at the restaurants I work at.) That as long as you don't take like five minutes to set up with your hands behind you, you shouldn't set off any alarms. Give it try. |

Hi Gang,
I always steal from a vest or jacket pocket! When I do I always have the coins in a coin clip, so that I always know just where to go for them! My vest pockets are somewhat big, so it's easy to do! I always think why work when I don't have too ! Anyway that's what I do! Best David Neighbors The Coinjurer |

Hi Gang,
Most of the time I just do 4! If you need to do a lot of coins there are dropers that hold 10, or 15. Or tube dropers that will hold up to 25-50 coins! I think Reed does somewhere around 20! But I am not sure! Maybe some of the other guys out there know! Best David Neighbors The Coinjurer |

I can classic palm about 4 now if I'm driving down the road or watching a magic video.
If I'm performing, that total drops way down to 1 or 2. My hands sweat a lot and those edges become darn slippery. Plus I don't have any routines that require more than 1 anyway... so far.

Multiple palming six half dollars or four silver dollars is what I am thinking of. More particularly in a stealing action from a pocket, or possibly discrete hold-out. (a la Jerry Andrus homemade coin clip.)
My thinking is “misers dream” type routines. I love the shock that people get when coins keep appearing; multiple palmed coins being the most direct way to produce coins is why I ask... Josh Here is another question about CP multiple coins; to stagger or not to stagger? Should the coins be flush with the bottom coin? … or fanned out to enable a better grip? Hmmm. … Opinions? Josh

Musashi,
In my personal experience, I've found that when CP multiple coins, that I do a better job when the coins are in a flush stack. I can palm them with them being staggered but it is much harder. So in my own opinion I'm going to say, "Not to Stagger." I'm also curious to see what other Café member’s opinions are. -Bill |
