I hate posting about my own stuff, because I never know what to say. Talking it up comes off as obnoxious, and downplaying it affects sales. But this time I do know.
I want to say... that I'm proud of this. The Blue Crown has compiled my three downloads; Bold Assembly, The Myth, and Triumph v.136, into one beautifuly produced DVD. There's a bunch of theory, some cool tricks, bonus handlings, and a ton of crediting. If you have 1 of my downloads, and liked it, this is the way to go. If you have all my downloads, and you loved them, this is a great way to get them in hardcopy. Finally, if you have my material, and you hate it, then get some Gosple magic. That's cool I guess. http://www.thebluecrown.com/store/tribute-by-ben-train.html Ben

Thanks Tracy,
I disagree with their assessment of Bold (which numerous people can attest not only works in the real world, but plays very well), but I was flattered by their comments about the DVD as a whole. 92 and 93%? Awesome. Ben

Interestingly, I only have Bold Assembly, so I'm gonna have to go grab the other two with a review like that.

Triumph v.136 by Ben Train.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QvwZNPfQQVg At his lecture Ben showed this great triumph routine. Very clean and done on opera music. Purchase this effect: http://www.thebluecrown.com/store/triumph-136.html Although independently conceived by Ben Train, the following method for Triumph was originally published by Syd Segal in Full Metal Jacket 2005, under the name "Very Fair Triumph." |

The Myth by Ben Train was showed also.
Fantastic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1G2EgLKPPE Ben Train will show you how to take a deck, clearly shuffle it, and cut to an Ace every time. Every card magician knows the name John Scarne. There's a legend that says Scarne was challenged by New York's toughest mobsters to find the Aces from a fairly shuffled pack during a back room encounter. The truth of the story has been lost to the ages, but one man is here today to bring The Myth back to life. The Myth is one of the most clean, direct, and baffling Ace location routines you'll ever see. The first 2 Aces are each found after a simple shuffle and cut. For the 3rd Ace, the stakes are raised by shuffling the cards face-up and face-down, yet you still find the card you're after. For the finale, no cutting is required. With a simple spread of the deck, your audience sees that all of the cards have magically turned face-down, with the exception of the final Ace. In this 40 minute download, Ben takes you step-by-step to learn all of the details of this amazing routine. See for yourself why Ben is considered to be one of today's young masters of card magic. |

I may not be correct, but I thought Very Fair Triumph and Triumph v.136, which they employ the same shuffling sequence, are not identical in methodology. I may be splitting hairs here, but my understanding is that the selection sequence is different as well as the sequence after the shuffling that leads to the reveal. Either way, it's a fantastic effect...now if only I could get to practicing the shuffle sequence.

Tribute was somewhat under my radar, until I saw today's WPR.
That BOLD move has me wondering...time to put this one in the cart.
After much soul searching about a signature, I decided not to have one.

Ben, I purchased this just because of "Triumph". Can't wait to have a solid watch through of this.
