I purchased this also to use it as a closer to several other card effects. I've been practicing the most difficult move in the routine and it is getting close. I need a bit more work and I'll have it. The overall routine is tremendously magical to say the least. Nothing beats the visual transformation of an entire deck of cards to another color like the ending of this routine does. The box changing color is startling and very convincing. I was thinking of going with a hypnosis plot that concludes with snaping all the spectators out of the trance so they can see that I had blue cards the whole time.
Pick a card, any card at all. Just don't pick a RED spade.

Sevenup,
I am so glad your giving Chrysalis what is deserves to serve you and your audience ( all orders go out on wed). Great idea on the hypnosis...how about having them take a lighter and light it and as they "look thru" the flame the box instantly changes? JM |

Thank you guys so much! Remember ( I posted this on my FB page) that when my next Paul Harris Presents release comes out, First Hand, the price for Chrysalis WILL go up to $34.95, so those who have not purchased and have been on the fence about this you have about 2 weeks or so, as the Official trailer for First Hand will be out this week! Would love to hear what you guys think who have received your decks. JM |

And you can easily cut that sleight out as I teach two versions of how to accomplish the same thing. I was in talks with a UK dealer recently but for now I'm making these by hand. JM JM |

Chrysalis Review:
I just went over JM's color changing deck Chrysalis and I must say, YES! this is a true worker! Like Justin said, you can totally close with this and turn a lot of heads. Bravo Justin with a very well explained DL and well thought out routine. Not to mention well made gimmick! I was very pleased when I received mine in the mail. The DL was very easy to follow as Justin gave numerous ideas and step by step instructions of the methods. When you purchase the DL, Justin breaks down the whole routine into sections to make the whole routine easier to follow. Typical Justin humor and teaching make this DL a pleasure to learn from - as well as a learning experiernce for all to gain knowledge from a seasoned pro! This effect will def go into your routine I'm sure after learning... It most certainly has in my book! Some pro's to mention about the routine and teachings of this routine are: 1. Justin's Equiv-okay 2. Justin's subtlety on the spread pass 3. Awesome gimmick with the routine Justin goes into great detail about his own take on the equiv and subtleties used in his effect. He explains some history on how he used other methods and how he was not happy with the results and how he finally came up with his own... The one is this routine. So in fact, you are really learning another effect in itself here as well. How to force a suit on someone is ALWAYS beneficial. Thank you for that JM! I really enjoyed Justin's take on the spread pass (the only real "move" in the routine) and how he makes it look so flawlessly like he's just adjusting the cards. The only real practice you need to do would be with this move here. I for one have issues with this particular pass, but the way Justin has it in the routine, it is much easier to accomplish because it is not used as a control... I was pleased with this aspect of the routine and when I started playing with it, I found that almost instantly I was nailing it every time! The gimmick itself that I got in the mail was great! Its as much fun to play with as anything you can imagine. Yes, you can make one yourself, but the way Justin puts the time and effort into each one... I doubt you'd be putting the effort in yourself. You can see it in the gimmick when you receive it. Good stuff! I was very pleased and I know its going to last a good amount of time - practice AND performance time! I'm def looking forward to performing this effect for a long LONG time! Thanks again Justin for such a great effect! Hope that this review helps others in their decision making for this effect. |

Love Justin's stuff, gonna have to put my order in shortly. CCD is one of favs to perform, is so just so visual, really blows minds. I can't tell you guys how many times I have done gigs and I get people coming up to me asking me to do the CCD to them again, out of all the killer stuff I showed them, they only want to see the CCD, just crazy.
I'm still doing Revolver followed by Chicago Opener (flow excellent together, deck sets itself up), that's as far as my color deck routine goes. I Have Nemisis, Color Burn, and Will Tsai's WTF. Loved Will's WTF, and performed it before my deck gave way, but my lord did Will's have a ton (and I mean TON) of work needed to be put into making that deck, not ever trying to go through that proccess again! Hoping this can flow well with my current routine, as long as it's a worker like those who have it stated it is, I'm in. Paul |

Justin, can this effect be done standing and/or surrounded, or must you be sitting behind a table a-la Slydini?

Whew! Received mine this past weekend! Great timing.
Watched the video and am just now working my way through the routine. I will definitely need to practice this a while; nothing that difficult, but I usually need some time to get effects like this to flow smoothly. If yer gonna do it, might as well do it well! Thanks! Jim |
