Hey, guys, not sure where to post this but I am doing a stage play and I need to float a rose. Can anyone suggest a good floating rose routine?

Hi Cameron:
To float a rose you need an anchor point - this depend on what type of play you're doing and the stage setting. Kevin James uses a candelabra - would this work in your setting? Personally I use a water bottle sitting on a table. Look at your stage set-up and determine where/what would make a good anchor. Once you determine this, the rest is pretty easy. Jim |

Besides the Kevin James tissue floating rose to real rose, there is a Zombie type Rose and a Dancing Cane type Rose.
It all depends on what you mean by Floating Rose, and the effect and routine you are seeking. |

Yes Cameron - what type are you looking for? When I read your post, I automatically assumed that you intend to, for example, pull a rose from a vase and cause it to float. Let us know and we can clarify further for you!

Dr. J Alyala. Got your PM. Thank you for the help. The video you recommended is perfect. Watching it now.
The trick has to be self contained. I can't hook it up to anything else on stage.

This interminable “Acrobatic Rose” effect is a one-trick-pony that no doubt would only entertain or fool a not too bright four year old. And why a ten second prop is given a two/one-half minute demo is just beyond me. So often “improvements” are just the opposite as Tommy Wonder pointed out.
