If you are looking for general techniques to use:

Best bang for the buck: Fulves Self-Working Rope Magic $6, 148pp

Next, the new Encyclopedia of Rope Tricks; $50, 435pp, much broader in scope than Fulves.

For a video presentation(Sometimes the diagrams in the books are just not clear.): Daryl's Expert Rope Magic; ~$72 for 3 DVD set, the third DVD has his full routine.

If you are looking for a stand alone routine, many like Fiber Optics, or Tabary's routine, but if you want to be more than a 1-rope pony, get one of the above.

Once again I agree with the excellent choices of John Long, but I would have to add along with "fiber optics" and Francis Tabray anything, just anything made by Pavel to be the finest rope magic made.
