What about all the "American Indians" who originaly came out of South America, Central America and Mexico? Should they go back to their Country of "true" origin.
What would things be like today if some other Country such as China or Russia settle here? Would there be any Native American Tribes left today? I think not. Maybe the European's settling here was the best thing for the survival of the Tribes. Just a Thought. Iven

Another radical thought.
If it is OK for Native American's to Kill our National Bird, is it OK for them to Burn our National Flag? Iven

Really, aren't Indians just lost Russians? Some stayed in Alaska and became Eskimos, others Canadian, then Ameriacans and finally South Americans.
If you want to think of something, there isn't anyone native to the US. They all came from somewhere else.

Correct. Except in those cases where eating an eagle or inhaling the smoke from a burning flag may have a contraceptive effect, in which case such activities shall be punishable by life in prison.

Try to earn a few rubles in Moscow and enjoy your two-room apartment with a bath. I don't want you here. You're not welcome in my house sonny. But, America, being the great place that it is, permits you and your ilk to carry on like this. So unfortunately we must put up with you. And that we do. To you, the word great is interchangeable with "flawless" or "perfect", as in, 'can do no wrong'. To me the word "great" implies great responsibility, humility, morality, and leadership. When we as a nation can do those things, that is what will make us great, both in words as well as in substance.
Your words are hollow. They have no substance. You are therefore not actually saying anything. You are merely paroting patriotic slogans in lieu of anything truly meaningful. You may not like my words, but at least they stand for something besides hollow slogans. A true patriot is not afraid to face the facts. A true patriot is not afraid to say there is room for the Nation to grow into even greater humility and a better leadership role on the world stage. Only by confronting what is wrong can we work together and make it better. Only a fool thinks we have "arrived" as a Nation, and that we are so "great" that the only work left is to throw out everyone who doesn't look or talk or worship exactly like ourselves. |

I agree with Chance here. Patriotism does not mean blind chauvinism. There was another nation back in the first half of the Twentieth Century that exemplified the notion of "my country, love it or leave it." Except they referred to it as "Der Vaterland." And they were happy to help anyone who didn't agree with them leave it -permanently.
And it is that kind of thinking that is truly anti-American. |

Were those who opposed slavery in the ante bellum South told to leave the country if they didn't like it? I'm sure they were. Just as it's common to hear "love it or leave" it thrown at anyone who dares to believe that blind chauvinism is the enemy of liberty.

You can't just walk out of America ... you need a host country that will accept you, and Russia (a previously mentioned example) would be a very difficult location to obtain such a visa. Chance is pretty much stuck here like the rest of us.
