Does anyone know the material used for the reed in a swiss warbler?
I got a few swiss warblers and the reed cracked after a couple of uses...
I want to repair them by replacing the reed with a suitable material but don't know what it is.

I used to play with these as a kid, and remember using Scotch Tape as a replacement reed when the original would inevitably break. I didn't do anything to reduce the stickiness of the tape.

This really brings back memories. Anyone else remember the misleading comic book ads that implied that you can throw your voice with a secret device that you hide in your mouth?

To fix the warbler is easy, just take a piece of saran wrap and open the moon shaped metal and replace.

Yes, I was one of those kids that believed the ads for the wobbler, if you wanted to do bird calls, it might have worked.

I remember they tasted terrible. Smile

I think it is the skin membrane of cow intestines used for this because it has the same properties when dried. Same material used in making sausages. I tried it before and it worked.
