I want to make a Blendo Bag.
Would I be right in thinking I should make a GIANT devil's hankie (75cm x 75cm) with the inner pocket 25cm x 37cm)? It would seem that those dimensions would work quite well. I would make a colour on the back different from the colour on the front so it appears to change colour when you open it. I also wanted to make it a change bag when folded up. My routine is I want to take out a small bag which I call "my monkey bag". I have three sponge bananaS which we have to 'feed' the monkey so he will come out. A child helps and the normal silliness ensues with the banana's falling out of the bag etc. Eventually, the three banana turn into a giant key. (the trick only half worked) mon--key After the second attempt the bag unravels with NO bananas or keys. The cloth looks like a monkey with its head missing so the child's head pokes over the top and THEY are the monkey (you can see a silk print exactly like I want here) http://www.hocus-pocus.com/magicshop/pro......tem=3515 |

Hi Nicholas:
I'm familiar with two types of bag blendos. There is the Bongo Blendo by Ali Bongo. It's been a long time since I've seen one, but I do remember it's very similar to what you've described. The transformation occurs when you turn the bag inside out. The other type, which I like much better, is the Suds version,"What's New". It is a much quicker version. Silks (or whatever) are put into the bag, and WHAM...the bag turns into the foulard in a flash. No turning it inside out. I've had 3 or 4 of the "What's New" versions made out of Rice's silks. You need two of the big silks. If you're interested, PM me and I'll give you all the details. Also, P&A has bag blendos, but they must be different because they only use one big silk. I'm assuming on their version you can't show both sides of the big silk. Ron |
