It is! If only selberg made slightly more affordable puppets. Haha. I guess it keeps the amateurs like me away. Lol. I've seen dirk goldens videos and my my, the selberg dummies are a work of art!

Hey Frankie! WOW! That's great! Show them to me someday would ya? Its been long since I visited!

I doubt I'd ever get to own a dummy like a selberg. Way over my league considering I don't ever perform with puppets, except the cable mouth. I must say, Selbergs seem to be the Rolls Royce in the puppet world. Correct me if I'm wrong...

A Selberg is nice but I am sure there are also other which is equally as good. It's a matter of taste.
I've collected quite a few figures from different makers like Dan Lavender,Dan Paynes,Tim Cowles, amongst others and each has their strength and quirks.

Frankie, thanks for sharing. I get what you mean too. I was on your site, and I must say, your vent dummies look awesome too! I'd love to own one!

I've owned and used a Selberg figure, and though I liked the craftmanship I just thought that many of his figures are too "humanlike" and that's not my preference. I want figures that have those traditional vent dummy looks (like those of Marshall, Hartz, Spencer, even Semok, etc.).

And if I ever get a Selberg again, I'd choose his "extreme characters" which is designed more as cartoon people.

Albert Alfaros is my figure maker of choice. Absolutely nothing wrong with ANY of the others! I just prefer Albert's figures because of quality, craftmanship, price, and reasonable availability. Guess that's why I have 3 of them:o)

I'm a big Hartz fan. Louie's a Hartz. I've got the Selberg baby that I've named Niblet. Audiences love him. Got a few others, including a Chuck Jackson which is awfully nice. I've never gotten my hands on a Marshall, though I hope to at least hold one at some point in my life! Smile

Philip make a trip to Boston some time and come see the ventriloquist central collection. You can then handle all the Marshall figures you want.
