I started working on Dai Vernon's coins to glass this weekend. Unfortunately, I broke the champagne glass dropping the silver dollars in the glass. I remember reading or hearing something about using crystal champagne glasses instead of glass. Anybody know if this type of glass hold up better? I couldn't find anything on an internet search.

That would make sense in my mind, though it's only intuition speaking. If it were me I'd be afraid of breaking a much more expensive glass and just switch to plastic (classy!). I remember practicing Infusion by Gier Bratlie and having a glass disassemble itself into shards in my hands and thinking "he warned about this and that could be a career ender!" Such began my love affair with plastic.

Crystal would be stronger, Craig.

You can order a half dozen or more champagne glasses from a restaurant supply company. They work perfectly, look good and are stronger than the average crystal glass because they're made for wear and tear. ( A tip from David Roth's lecture ).

Thanks everyone. NicholasD, I'm going to do that. Good tip. I've been to several of David Roth's lectures, but this never came up.
