I had the honor to visit Uri Geller at his home.
Great person a true gentleman, we spoke quite a lot and he gave me great advices. An unforgettable day. :)

Honor???
You can say many great things about Geller but "honor" isn't one of them. |

I don't really get why people rag on Uri Gellar so hard. Sure, he may or may not be bending spoons with his mind... but I may or may not be reading body language or using NLP eye accessing cues when I reveal the word you're merely thinking of.
We're all liars and charlatans. That's part of the fun. |

There is nothing dishonourable about what Geller has done. He never exploited grieving people, never gave false hope. He just kept us entertained and talking for three decades. I would love to meet the man.

Watching this now. This is one of the beat interviews with a mentalist ever.

I am also a fan of Uri Geller and I don't care who knows it. It WOULD be an honour to meet him!

That was pure gold. Perhaps the most fascinating interview I've ever heard on mentalism.
His answers were genius. |

Perhaps you may like to know that he reads the magic Café on a very regular basis. I would say the odds of him reading this very thread are about 90%. Some of you say that you would like to meet him. The odd thing is that he has probably met you just by reading this thread. Perhaps you should all say "hello". He won't answer you but at least you know he is watching.

I'm disapointed that I missed it. He was a text book example of how to become world famous (a la Shiels), his route was bending spoons & he proved many doubters wrong.
IMO, he truly believed that he could "bend metal" every time that he performed it, a trait, every great Mentalist should possess!

Just think how many of us today bend spoons, keys etc... and all this THANKS to him!
He gave a great contribution to our Art, don't forget it. Then if you like or not his personal idea, this is your point of view, but I think we all should to learn from him. You can't imagine how great energy I felt speaking with him, he has a true passion for what he does he really open my mind and help me to think BIG! Really empowering! I am really honored to call him "friend"! :)

You can say you have the power to bend spoons or predict a sporting event as much as you like. But when you say to someone you can find his missing child or return his kidnapped son you are crossing the line. This is how I see it at least.

I found the interview riveting - I was forty minutes late for my judo session! Could not tear myself away. He handled himself very well.
Derek, I have no problem with him selling crystals. Far less harmful than telling grieving parents he can put them in touch with dead children, like mediums do night after night.

I agree, it's less harmful.
However, does it give false hope? |

I want to start off by saying, I do NOT like people preying on greifing parents (in this case), however I came to a conclusion some time within reading this post....
If one of my childer where to pass away I assume that I would go off the deep end. When Im swimming in despair I would be contacted by the church (who is to say they are any better, but that's for a diffrend discusion), my friends, my family, ect ect. All would want to give me piece of mind or "help". If all the mentioned failed to give me a moment of relief from my despair, why not give a "psychic" a shot? Becuse he or she is fake? Well if he or she made me feel better at some financial cost, does it matter if he or she is fake? I think not.... Anyways, just a thought. Respect, Billy |
