The handling here looks awkward and super tense (especially near the end).
Not sure what is gained with this version. The ad says: "Examinable! Cards can be BORROWED and SIGNED!" Well, that's true with the original card warp as well. (At least with the versions where you put the work into the card in front of your audience.) And the original is essentially impromptu. Not only that, but in the original, when you tear the card at the end it can be one of the most powerful parts, AND it allows you to end completely clean. So I don't know if getting rid of that part of the trick is a step forward. And what is the "impossible souvenir" the audience is left with? This looks good for fooling magicians, not sure if it's better than the original for a regular audience. |

Having only performed what I believe to be the original, Walton version, I am very impressed by this.
Has anyone given it a shot? |

The handling felt tense in places, but if the cards are left examinable, and not torn in the end, then that could be worthwhile.

I have seen Chris's version and you do leave them with two signed, unripped cards in the end. I too Chris when he show this to me that John Born ha aversion similar and he talked with John and they worked it out. Johns version will be in my soon to be released book on Cardwarp called "The Cardwarp Tour", but in the meantime check out Chris's download, you won't be sorry.

I have this and have mixed feelings. The claim of using borrowed cards is a bit of a stretch. There is no way you could add the "special something" to them properly with out some privacy. That said it is yet another version of this classic.I am not sure it is an improvement or not. I agree with Joe in that the original is superior as it can also start and end clean and the fact that you lose what I think is the strongest part of the trick in tearing and then displaying the card while it is warped should not be over looked. Also I can not see this "something special" lasting more than 4 or 5 performances before having to construct another one.
I think we get caught up in the no tear method but forget that the audience is never aware of it in the first place. I am glad it was not over priced though. 2 cents spent |

So what's not very fair about the original?
Here's the thing, in the original, the card doesn't just turn inside out half way, it does it all the way. A few times. While this looks nice, I don't see this effect as an improvement. BW, if you want a killer ending to card warp, try Walton's original ending. no one does it but it's far better than the half and half tear that most people do at the end of the effect. I personally feel that ending is anti climatic. Waltons original ending is far more magical. Davenports sells the original manuscript for something like 5 bucks. It's worth it.

Not tearing the card will only help fool some magicians. Audiences never suspect a tear, they always suspect a second card or something, which is why I have them sign the cards. I really enjoyed Tyler Wilson's version of card warp. Overall I agree that handing out two normal cards is not the most impressive way to end this.

I assure you guys that it seems stiff only because I am sitting down!
so much easier to do magic standing up with arms down in a more relaxed position |

I have the same problem. I virtually never perform sitting down and when I try my arms just don't work quite the same. That's why I'd stand up to film a demo instead of telling everyone later how much better it would have been if I hadn't been sitting.
