He never said the spectator can shuffle however he wants.
It still looks like a cool demonstration, it´s no problem for me that it has to be a riffle shuffle, there are many ways to make sure they will riffle shuffle without being suspicious. No problem for that… |

I pantomime a riffle shuffle....Steve Beam has a comical pater telling them to rifle shuffle and then telling them not to square the packet (obviously too late).

One - it must be riffled shuffled. In the video he says the spectator can riffle shuffle.
If you just say to cut the cards and then riffle or "bridge" shuffle as some people around here call it - it doesn't really come off as odd. If you draw attention to it, it will be odd. Otherwise don't think about it.
I've been training these cards since they were small.

Well...if it really has to be a riffle or a faro shuffle, that changes things...but it still fooled me the first time. And if it fools a lot of magicians once, it'll probably fool the heck out of lay people every time.

So does it depend on a lay person being able to do a riffle shuffle? I'm not sure I would want to trust in that happening every time I perform this.

Is it ok now to reverse engineer someone's hard work and then discuss it so openly? if you want to learn it - buy the dvd...

There are other effects beside Harmony - There is no "punishment." I always want to know what I am buying, not throw my money at something that I know little about. If your okay with spending your money blindly- boy do I have a list of things to sell you.

I've written lewis and asked him to come here and tip the methods so people know what they are getting and not throwing their money away.

I don't think anyone reading this thread is going to be able to figure out how Harmony is done if he doesn't already have his own theories, arrived at by watching a demo or two. I don't even know if my own theory is correct!
Anyone who does manage to reverse-engineer the effect from the demo and wishes to perform it should buy Paint the Roses Red first. It's le Val's creation, and paying him for it is tantamount to buying the right to perform it...it's the right thing to do.

While I appreciate honest demos, full performances of certain types of effects would definitely attract reverse-engineering, and sadly not everyone would "do the right thing". Great work Lewis!

After an hour of tinkering I have sussed the method. Very clever thinking. In fact I'd say devious.

That control is killer too. This seems to be a very good release. Full performances were nice to see.
