Hi am Paul.
One of my favourite grand illusions was performed by David Nixon on one of his last shows.
A girl stands on one scale of a set of large weighing scales. The magician (David Nixon) covers the girl assistant with a cloth. He places a large weight on the other scale, and the girl shouts out nervously. The magician removes the cloth, the girl has vanished and in her place are balloons.
A lovely illusion, but have you ever seen this performed by another magician?
Paul.

There have been variations on the "weighing scales". Doug Henning performed one version, and they appear in the Goldston Books of a century ago.

I also believe that Andre Kole also has a version that he does in his illusion show.

Hi,

I believe I've seen a different version of this illusion presented on french TV by Dani Lary a few years ago. He used a large scale to do a transposition effect of two people standing each on one side of the scale.
