Do any of you use a Coin Ladder for your kid shows? What do you recommend and where can I buy one?
I was just thinking that this could be a great finish for my Miser's Dream routine. The louder the better.

I have one, but never use it. It takes too long to set-up and pack away. A decent misers dream pale is good enough for most shows and zero setting up time.

I just purchased one from an excellent seller on the café and use it with a coin wand; the kids love looking at and hearing the coins dropping into the pan on the bottom.
Steve is correct, it is more trouble to use it, but for me, the look in the kid’s eyes makes it worth it |

How much are "used" coin ladders going these days?
Also has anyone tried to make their own coin ladder using xylophone of glockenspeil parts? Harris

I was going to make one a few years ago that played "We're in the money" from 42nd street... 5 notes... but decided against it.. as it didn't seem very mysterious to me... and is a LOT of tinkering to get the loads and holders and etc set up... let alone the building of them.

Joe Eddie Fairchild has one of the nicest coin ladders I have ever seen. I saw it at a convention a couple of years ago and played with it a bit. Very smooth and really good "tone".
We just do not have a good place in any of our shows for one, or I would have purchased that one in a heartbeat. http://www.fairchildmagic.com/fairchild_magic_064.htm ~Nanci |
