I have a two inch set of Fakini Mutiplying Balls which I practice with every day and perform with regularly. I perform mainly parlour style magic for small groups of generally about sixty and I am on the same level as the audience (not on a stage). Occasionally the shell sticks to the ball as I am about to bring it out of the shell. I have read that you can stick a little felt circle that they use on the bottom of vases inside the shell to stop it sticking. One of the beauties of using Fakini Balls is that the shell is really snug fitting and is not easily seen as you are performing. I have been reluctant to use the felt circle as I felt that the shell would not snuggly fit the ball and because of the proximity of the audience it may be seen. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Levent has it all covered in his dvd set. You might write him and get his input.
I would think even a couple pieces of tape on the inside might help kind of break the vacuum on the shell. Richard

This has always been the case with these ball sets. Just before production, the 2nd figure, moves to pull back on the ball. The 1st finger applies pressure and moves to hold the gap just created by the 2nd finger. I call this obtaining the break.
Try the tape of sticky spots in rubber and felt pads for cabinet doors and items to place on furniture. They can always be removed, if you don't like them. Don't be afraid of trying different ideas, as that is how we grow and become creative. You don't need our permission, but if you do, you have my permission to experiment to find what works for you in all magic. Do also get all the publications and video you can on a subject, Levent's material will be very helpful as well. |

Thank you for your suggestions hugmagic and wmhegbli. I have "Levent's Ultimate Guide to the Billiard Balls" so I will review it again and I will contact him for his comments. I also have DVDs by Geoffrey Buckingham Brad Burt and Tim Wright all on the same subject. I will keep on experimenting as you suggest.

Great tip Bill, I used the same method too.
Try not to squeeze the ball and shell too tightly during a routine. It really depends what you need though. |

Go ahead and put something in the sh**l. The fakini sh*ll are anything but invisible anyway. There is a huge rim that is easily visible anyway.

Yes, but just want to also say that 2 inch fakinis are the one's I also used. I've just learned I can't flash the backside of the loaded gimmick like I used with wooden balls.

If you were to bounce or drop the ball while it is it the sh**l, it may dent the sh**l and press against the ball and hold it tighter. don't drop the gimmick while it is loaded
