Guys, if you are in the south near a tourist area, try to find a place that no one knows about there and do shows there. There are a lot of places that no one has ever thought of. Find a spot, private property perhaps, a pedestrian mall...just places where there are tourists. Then you don't have to worry about the mean streets of say, New Orleans.

If you look you will find it.

You might want to check local regulations before staking a claim. Many small towns have some pretty strict laws on working the street and a free (or relatively low cost) permit may be all that's needed to prevent a big misunderstanding with the local sheriff.

For private property, get the owner's "written" permission! Smile

In Moscow, there is no permit needed, just as long as you don't interfere with traffic, block doorways, etc. this may be the case in many small towns.
bike during the day,
do magic at night,
and very early the next morning,
homework.

Great, thanks for the tip. I am hoping to do a tour your way pretty soon and your advice is very useful.

Koz practices what he preaches.

He found a great spot in a place where most folks wouldn't do it. It works for him because he makes it work for him.

Doug Conn also picks spots that away from the most obvious. It just makes sense.

I see a lot of magicians trying to work the obvious places, but the really successful buskers work their own spaces.

Finding your own isn't easy, but once you find it, you will be glad you did.

If you stand for nothing, you will fall for anything.
