Did Tony always write his letters like this? How many are out there?

He seems to have done this quite a bit; every letter, a singular work of art.
For further examples, be sure to check out his biography -- Unspeakable Acts: Three Lives and Countless Legends of Tom Palmer/Tony Andruzzi/Masklyn ye Mage To whet your appetite, here's the ad blurb: "Tom Palmer was no ordinary magician. He wasn’t even three ordinary magicians. After making his reputation as an award-winning comedy-magic performer, he ditched it all to become pioneer of bizarre magick, Tony Andruzzi; then wrote and performed under yet a third persona, Masklyn ye Mage. Under one or more of these guises he built pieces for major illusionists, published his own influential magic periodical, headed a witch coven, ran a magic shop, created highly collectible handmade books, hosted an infamous alcohol-fueled annual convention, testified to the Warren Commission on the Kennedy assassination, married four times, and has continued to impact the world of magic 20 years after his death. Get to know him through his own words and through those who knew him. And discover an unforgettable life brimming with hilarious, touching, and outrageous stories—made all the more amazing by the fact that some of them are actually true. Casewrapped hardcover: 535 pages, illustrated." Here's what Jamy Ian Swiss had to say about it in his rave review in Genii (May 2011): "It's challenging if not impossible to do justice to a life and personality as complex as that of Tony Andruzzi. Fortunately, the author was a personal friend and longtime colleague, and was assisted by the work of other similar friends and associates of ye Mage. The result is a readable tome that...really does manage to do some justice to the memory of a truly extraordinary character." "I was fortunate to know him personally...and now, thanks to this enjoyable book, those who had the pleasure along with those who missed the privilege, have the chance to get to know a genuine man of mystery." James Allen had this to add in Magicol No. 179 (May 2011): "I could describe Unspeakable Acts in one word; however, since the subject was actually three people, I will allow myself three: so much fun!" And here are some representative quotes from Joshua Kane's spectacular review in M-U-M (August 2011): "Unspeakable Acts is this year's guilty pleasure read. It is a witty and salacious roller coaster ride through the life of one of magic's most complicated and creative individuals; a man whose legacy has left three distinct identities for historians and friends alike to contend with, be confused by, and miss seeing at the bar or hospitality suite." "If there ever was a performer whose life was stranger than fiction and suited for a mad bio-pic, it was Tony. If it were not for the careful documentation of newspaper articles and references to primary sources included in the volume, no one would believe even half of the tales that have been collected and published." "Jim Magus, Terry Nosek, and Neil Tobin...are to be commended and thanked for compiling and editing so much material into a volume whose momentum and page-turning energy never flags...I thoroughly enjoyed the read and know that I will return to it often." He must have gotten dozens of such requests in the 90's, but he very politely responded to me, telling me he no longer had any of the books for sale. The letter is on torn edged parchment paper, typed in red ink, and signed by him, along with his wax seal with a piece of feather in it. |

I was privy to many hours of Tony Andruzzi sending letters to various "Bizarre" friends via audio cassette.
Among the frequent sounds of ice meeting glass was a very compelling story teller . |

It was the golden age of bizare magick. Only the inner circle had access and it was a hard club to join.

Looking at the letters, I wonder who got Tony's 'M' ring when he passed? Or for that matter, where did Eugene Burgers collection end up?

My guess is that it represents an evil version of the Hamsa (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamsa)?

Everything he sent me were written on whatever was handy. No rhyme or reason. And here is an obscure one. His mailing address: I won't publish it because I don't someone who has that PO Box now to get hammered with stupid questions and junk mail.
