Tommy Wonder saw Greg lecture and said:
“Wow! That’s the best lecture I’ve ever seen." -Tommy Wonder http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/2671 "This Saturday you can find out what all the buzz is about. Gregory will be teaching some of his favorite workers, including SEVERAL unreleased tricks that he's been secretly honing for YEARS". |

I've just been watching the David Roth lecture from Penguin. Very good and a great price for a two hour lecture. Though it did take 3 1/2 hours to download. I hope they keep doing these downloadable lectures.

I really wish that either penguin or the person doing the lecture would say what they plan on doing for the lecture. I got the Calen lecture, and even though I really liked it, I was disappointed that most of the tricks he taught were in his F(9) dvd.

I bought Jay Noblezada and Nathan Kranzo and both were excellent! Greg Wilson will be really good too. Penguin magc is kicking it and taking names. Incredible stuff.

Xiqual, how much of Jay's stuff was the one on one street hypnosis versus group format? This may be an ignorant question I realize assuming the techniques are the same

Brent,
The first 1.5 hour was all one on one, then he did a lot of questions and talked about a ton of ideas from a very different viewpoint. Then he did a group induction and a little phenomena. Then taught a card trick but used a hypnosis type focus to change the feeling. Then finally one single person into deep hypnosis. Lots of material to digest. I will be watching this many times. Thank You for the details Xiqual.
Jay Noblezada is a supreme hypnotist and an all-around incredible human being, I have to get around to purchasing this lecture because I notice how easy and effective his material is to digest by simply watching and listening. All the best Nicko |

I saw Wilson lecture at Barry's Magic Shop in Rockville, MD, a couple of years ago. Laughed the whole time. Other than the prepared schtick - which is funny - he has a real gift for interacting with specs in real time and thinking on his feet. You kind of feel like you're at a party when he's doing his thing. Oh, and the magic was terrific, of course.
Now appearing nightly in my basement.

This is Penguin's thing but they have been kind enough to have us come aboard and get involved. Penguin is really doing a great service to the magic community by offering these lectures. With conventions closing down and the cost of driving to a lecture become so expensive these lectures make so much sense. Right now we are doing about 3 to 5 lectures a month and we are not slowing Penguin has a deal that costs 49.95 a month and you get to see all the lectures you want and remember the content is available to be downloaded at a later time and kept so you can watch it as many times as you want. For those interested heres the link http://www.penguinmagic.com/subscriptions.php
And heres the ad for the service $49.95/month. Cancel anytime. What you get: VIP access to attend every Penguin LIVE 2-hour lecture we host during your active membership (currently 3-5 per month). Gregory Wilson, Joshua Jay, Noblezada and Shawn Farquhar are already scheduled for April alone, with many more coming soon. We've been bringing in some of the biggest names in the world to Penguin LIVE. Past guests have included Richard Osterlind, David Regal, Gazzo, Calen Morelli and Oz Pearlman. And at $25 or more per lecture, Penguin LIVE: All Access Pass is an incredible value. You'll get access to attend LIVE (and later download) EVERY online lecture we do.

Great deal. I really like these lectures. 2 or three hours and a lot of times it's never before published material.

Penguin and Papercrane are doing a great service to the magic community bringing this lectures to us. It's amazing to watch them live and then have them for playback ( something you don't get attending an actual lecture ).
The future is here! |

I'll certainly download some of these, but before I do, what's the format? Is it performer direct to camera, or is there a small audience?

There is a small audience and you have a front row seat. This is an incredible value.
