I'm not sure if I will have to send this to Inner Thoughts, but I thought I might as well give it a go here.
I recently hacked together a nice p*** wallet with a normal wallet and part of a Telethought Pad. After realizing how much fun it was to use, I've begun to consider purchasing a Telethought wallet, but I've been wondering if it would look a bit too gimmicky (there's only a few pockets and it has gold corners for crying out loud). Has anyone had any issues with spectators thinking that it looked unnatural or strange?

Easy to remove the gold metal corners.
Never had a problem at all. Steve |

I like the metal corners...i've just added some copper ones to a different business card case of mine.. makes them look classy...and a lot of good quality leather goods have those edges on them over here at least...(like the gimp suit Steve bought me, the copper rendering on that was beautiful!).
why hack up a pad to make the wallet?! just buy the wallet (version 2) and be done with it...ruined your pad now!

Thanks, Steve. I should have thought of that.

If I was performing with a table it would be a no brainer, but as it is I never felt write about the pad or getting the peek. With a wallet though it just feels a lot better. I don't know why I didn't think of just removing the corners. That will solve my problem.

Earlier I never really wanted a wallet, but more recently my interest has peeked (yes, pun intended).
Is Riggs still selling? I thought he was having a clearance some months (or years, my memory is poor) ago.

It's the wallet I use to carry my business cards. I hand out cards from it. Gives a logical reason to open it: to give them something to write on.

The copper rendering on the gimp suit was a one-off custom job and its not practical to try and incorporate the same level of detail in a p**k wallet.
However if someone fancies a pony harness with blinkers, instead of the usual mentalists blindfold, then just PM me. Steven |

Before I was of the mind "it seems kind of silly to have them write something and then put it into a wallet for no very good reason". With the business cards in the wallet, it makes more sense. "give the card from the wallet then put it back.

I went to a wedding recently where they had a mental magician. he was pretty good. He a did an effect with a peek wallet which involved him putting their card in his business card wallet and then reopening the wallet to get a second card to draw on. Everyone clapped but listening to the conversations afterwards, the people I spoke to or overheard came to the conclusion "I dunno but I think he must have had a trick wallet" or similar. I.e. no they didn't know exactly how the peek was done but they suspected something was going on.

Just a breif heads up: I went ahead and purchased the wallet, and it arrived. I realized that the problem I was happening was because it was called a wallet instead of, say, a business card wallet, or not mentioning it at all. The kit it came with was quite nice, and although the default setup wouldn't work with my preferred handling, the wallet is customizable so I made a change in 3 seconds and it's now working like a dream. Very satisfied with the purchase.

The Telethought Wallet 2 has worked perfectly for me. I even let them handle it (while I still hold it for them). I have them place the business card in themselves and I hold the wallet as I tell them to take another out from the inside for me. I instantly close it and have them hold onto it for the rest of the effect. The first time I tried this I didn't let them touch it. That raised suspicion. Which is something I'm learning about. Spectators seem to become suspicious of anything you don't let them touch. Things that are meaningless to the trick. So I've changed up some things so they get to touch whatever possible. The design of the wallet is great and no reason not to let the spectators handle it (within reason).

I own a couple of each the TeleThought I and II and they are truly a mentalist's dream. Elegant, sleek, deceptive, devious and diabolically clever. Can literally and boldly be performed in the hand of a spectator and completely surrounded with no one the wiser. The James Bond of peek wallets and unlike anything else on the open market from what I have found. Unfortuantely, it will not hold many business cards but the performance advantages; however, greatly outweigh this trivial shortcoming. This is something I perform often on a regular basis and it never ceases to create beLIEvers whenever I go. One of the best 2016 purchases for me and money very well spent. A real pleasure to own and perform with and comes highly recommended.
